TC and Cadillac are decently close to eachother. Any chance you could pick one location and put the appointments just there. we wouldn't mind the extra drive.
TC Needs More Than 3 Day's Notice To Hold A Clinic.
Melody and Rick, I know that you are working hard to get Michigan patient's a Dr's Recommendation and we in Traverse City continue to appreciate all that you do but we really need more advanced notice in order for us to help you to fill your clinic day with appts.
We tried to promote the clinic at the TC Compassion Club on Monday night but the overall feeling expressed by the group was frustration that 3 day's notice of a clinic is not enough lead time to contact prospective patients about the clinic. If we can get a clinic scheduled with 4 weeks notice, we can make sure that Public Service Announcements are placed in area newspapers and on the radio to promote the date, time, and place of the clinic. There wasn't even time for this TC Clinic to be listed on the MMMA calendar, let alone other local venues.
Traverse City will welcome, and heavily promote, support, and fill any medical marijuana clinic in Northern Michigan if we can get at least 4 weeks lead time for promotion. We would love to fill your clinic day with patients. We just need more lead time.

As Bob and I just discussed on the phone, I have been kind of technologically cut off in recent weeks, and hadn't actually checked the MMMA calendar; I had just been operating on faith that those dates had been posted, because I had been told as much --- or at least that was how I had understood what I was told. It is entirely possible that the mistake was mine.
At this point, I am hoping to reschedule the 2 people from TC, to go to Cadillac on Friday instead. That would make only ten in Caddy, though, so at this point I'm unsure whether either one is a go.

dont get me wrong i believe the thcf is doing a good thing and the right thing to help patients.but i find it funny that there asking for urgency in filling there open spots when it normally takes them weeks to call back after leaving messages.i ended up going else where because after 3 weeks of leaving messages and faxing paperwork i was still 3 weeks away from getting an apointment.like i said i know there good people trying to help out the sick,just got a little chuckle out of the "urgency"part.

Yeah, I kinda thought I might get that response, and you are totally justified in chuckling.
However, please bear in mind that THCF's business has doubled since MI came on board, and our number of staff has not. Therefore, we've had the same number of folks handling double the amount of phone calls and records reviews. I know this has led to some really frustrating wait times.
But now, I'm back from training, we have some new staff here in Southfield, and most importantly we have our own office open, with the technology to handle MI appointments right here in MI, instead of all in a different time zone, with only three hours of actual overlap in our work days.
So PLEASE, chuckle if you must, but the folks who are already scheduled for those days would really appreciate it if we didn't have to cancel them.
Thank you to the one person from TC who responded to yesterday's call, and to everyone else: if or someone you know needs a med mj recommendation, please fax your records today to (248)351-2699, and we will review them and call you back.
