Are you? I might want to try mixing coir with soil and worm castings and such in smartpots.

I had very good results using Floranova Bloom and Floralicious plus in coco hand watered 3 gal pots flushed once per week. The taste was comparable to nicely grown organic.

Yes, I am. A friend grows in dirt, I use coir and castings. My yield is larger and tastes as good as his. By the way, we both grow bubba kush from the same mother plant.

Old thread, but I have a new story to add, so here goes:

 

 

 

 

I got better reports of taste and smell from my patients after my last crop.  I grow in 100% coco, 2-3 gallon Smart Pots, with General Hydroponics 3-part nutes, drain-to-waste with well water.  

 

The difference this time was a 10 day flush at the end, where previously I had only flushed for a few days.

 

I feed very lightly, about 0.9 EC usually, so I was surprised that the longer flush was noticed by the patients.

Of course a good flush will improve taste and reduce harshness greatly... I usually flush for two weeks. I have recently switched some plants to 100% Coco and they're loving it!! Crazy roots busting out the SPs in few days after trasplant. Hoping i get the same great taste as soil.. ~ODB~
