After the legalization of marijuana in Michigan, some patients are thinking they could stop paying the state $100 for the special mmp card , and just use the recreational marijuana law to grow their medicine.
A patient with a registered card can use the ultimate defense and immunity to avoid a driving under the influence charge.
Only adults 21 or over are protected by the new legalization law, but no one yet knows how the new law will affect driving privileges.
Is the zero tolerance of THC in your blood law still in effect for adult use marijuana ?
The new law is similarly worded to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.
      Whereas the MMMA says
While the meaning of "under the influence" was not decided within the MMMA until 2012, with People v Koon, that was 4 years of police arresting patients for driving with marijuana in their blood.
The court in People v Koon came to the conclusion:
Ignoring that for a minute, the Michigan State Police have been tasked with sampling saliva during road side stops for a task force on marijuana driving. The task force was created in order to find a nanogram limit for THC in blood, even though 50 years of scientific research on the subject has consistently said marijuana does not affect driving.

So my advice is, if you are a patient, keep the patient card active until the courts either give up on all marijuana issues, or at least this driving issue , or it is decided by the Michigan Supreme Court.

Basically, until non-patients get a similar "People v Koon" ruling from the Michigan Supreme Court, it is advised that any patients keep their cards to protect them fully under the MMMA.
"Don't be the first person to test this in court."

  3. Just bought a new supply recently, they last three to four years. I buy the 62% Boveda and use in quart jars. Buds are slightly moist, but after opening the jar I let buds air out an hour or two for couple days. After taking out of jar, store in sealed plastic bag and will work for next jar of bud.
  4. Boveda, they make different ones, 62% and 59% are most common. I prefer the 59
  5. Established patient with card. Not sure if I want a dedicated caregiver (may try to grow my own), but open to it if the terms are right. Right now just looking to establish a relationship with a professional and trustworthy supplier. Please PM me to let me know what strains/rates you have, photos help. Normally like to get an ounce or two at a time, but flexible. I am in Kalamazoo frequently so that would be ok too if you are not in Battle Creek. Thanks in advance.
  6. ive seen the dispensaries use some kind of humidity pack to keep the flower fresh and so it does not dry out. can someone please let me know what they r called? thanks.
  7. If I top, I usually top once right out of the cloner, probably at about the 4th node, then once after they grow out a bit. I usually prefer to train over topping though. When they are about a foot tall I will bend the main top over and then the side branches will shoot up. Then I will super crop as needed to keep them short an even in height. My cielings are 7ft, and I veg 7 weeks, this is the best way I have found to keep them in control. If they are still growing too fast, I will top each of the branches.
  8. I don't want to run into the same issue as my last crop. My tent is 6.5 feet tall, I don't want the plants too tall. How many nodes should I allow before I top the plants?
  9. There should be 2 doctors in the Saginaw area. I can find out for you. I know we have a quite a few that are willing to see minor children. Take documents showing the autism diagnosis along with the paperwork (typically they have it there). I haven’t ran into to many problems with parents obtaining a card for their child. You do have to pay for the doctors visits and I believe it’s still $65 to the state. You will receive a card for your child and one for you as a parent you HAVE to be the caregiver. If you have any questions please let me know, I’ve been treating my 12 year old for over 3 years now. 🌱🧩 💚
  10. Cali is feeling it hard rn. They have a strong grassroots movement and are doing well with it. They have established groups of their own groups of growers and caregivers alike to lobby against the big corporations and to try and establish a fair market for everyone to compete in. I think doing this is probably our best chance at keeping big corp from monopolizing market share. We need to build caregiver coalitions and local groups willing to stand up and rally lobby and "compete" in this corporate game against them. We must play this game and remember that WE have been playing this much longer than them. WE know our markets and our patients/consumers. We from the mitten know our mitten and will be the best at providing what fellow michiganders want and need in their meds not out of state corp greedy money hungry sharks. We are here for the patients. The caregiver network. And for our personal human rights. We need to take the focus off the greed and dollar and put it back to the elderly, sick, etc. We must show our state this. Let's rally together build alliances & coalitions and local forms of competition for these corps. We can keep our community. We just may have to get our hands dirty. But hey. We should all be used to getting our hands dirty!
  11. Are your plants healthy? If they're growing OK you may not need to chase the perfect ph around. Don't worry too much unless you see signs of a problem.
  12. Thank you right now I only have two plant going so I got alil 5 gallon bucket but hopefully after this week I get a few upgrades get another light going and few more plants too so thank you again for the tip
  13. You can find used food grade 50-60 gallon drums on craigslist for $20. Add a bulkhead fitting and valve at the bottom for another $10.
  14. The dispensaries around here are awful and I'm tired of over paying for bunny muffin wax. I work in a field where I cannot smoke flower, but I can vaporize oils. I have PTSD, insomnia, and arthritis so I have a variety of issues I try to take care of as a MMMP. I live in the west side of Detroit area, but I am willing to travel for quality. Please help!
  15. Thai to my knowledge is a Sativa dom strain no? The higher the THC the more relaxing effect you get the cbd is more of a pain relief thing to me at least .
  16. Hi! I am looking for a caregiver in Southeast Michigan before I get my card.
  17. Yet they won't help people get their license back or help fund a plant that would jeopardise their own patents and side hustle they have going on. Pot isn't the problem, and I wish they would leave it alone.
  18. Thank you I thought I read something somewhere about buffering agents in water but I could never find it again so I was wondering if I was wrong and didnt see it just thought I did lol but thanks for the confirm I will start doing the same with the air stone and drum
  19. Sounds like your well water has some elements that are acting as a buffering agent. This is a problem with Detroit (Great Lakes Water Authority) water. They add a buffering agent to prevent the water going acidic. Low ph will leach lead into the drinking water. While the source of your problem is some natural occurring element, the solution may be the same. I use a 55 gallon drum as a water storage reservoir and adjust the ph over a period of time. For example when I first fill it the ph is right around 7. Just like your experience I can ph it down to 5.8 (hydro usage). In a few hours it will shoot back up to around 6.6-6.8 due to the buffering chemicals that Detroit added. A second ph treatment will return the ph to my target, 5.8 and it will hold. I do not use all the water at once so I keep it aerated with a couple of air stones. My approach is not terribly sophisticated, just a solution that I found works for me from trial and error. Perhaps someone with more chemistry knowledge will have a simpler solution.
  20. Hi I have been having problems with my water I have well water and its very hard idk exactly what the rating is but its very hard idk what the ppms are but here lies my problem when I ph my water from the tap it is between 7.5 and 8 then when i ph it to let's say 6.5 after about an hour its back to 8.0 so I ph my water to 6.5 water my plants and in a blink the ph is at 8.0 have any of you had this problem I guess what im askin is what is going on and how to stop it how to get my water to stay at 6.5 I think after I ph the frist time and wait I ph it again I think it stays (testing theory right now)
  21. I've been having the same issue. Not many doctors recommend cannabis to children in fear of losing their license. Cannabis is not covered in a doctorate degree program, and is still considered taboo. I believe my son has a mild form of ODD, and I've even posted on the forums that no distance is too far too drive to get help. I wish you lots of luck.
  22. So basically more of a thc/cbd ratio? If that's the case, I'm about to throw Fruity Thai into flower. Thanks for the help.

  24. I would think any kush would work well to help you sleep the longer you grow it the better to get the couchlock effect.
