    Do these look ready??

Like when you cut your finger and the cut releases blood back into your body? The chlorophyll is definitely what causes the grass smell but it is in every green or yellow cell in the plant. It may very well "leak" when you cut it but the amount that is released is negligible. The chlorophyll decays over time. The process is hastened by the shorter days and cooler temperatures. This is why tree leaves change color in the fall. Some cannabis strains will take on red and purple hues when the temperature drops. The Colombians adopted a practice in the 70's that made the chlorophyll decay before harvest. They would break the main stems but not sever them from the roots. Tarps would then be placed over the plants so they didn't receive any sunlight. The plant remained alive but would use up it's existing supply of chlorophyll and become yellow. The Colombian Gold and Red strains could then achieve the colors that they were known for. I'm guessing you weren't around then but those strains tasted just like hash. Part of it was the strains themselves but much of it was from the lack of light and loss of chlorophyll just before harvest.

  5. Two of my patients prefer the smaller buds dont ask why but from top to bottom it all gives me what I need as far as a desired effect and more overall weight per plant popcorn buds usually end up weighing an ounce.

  6. I usually remove anything that is below the canopy and doesn't receive direct light. It generally turns out to be the lower third of the branches. This is dependent on the growth habits of the particular strain. I currently have a Skunk strain that needs very little pruning because it grows like a tumbleweed and most of the branches are in direct light.

    Bamboo Stakes

Bamboo stakes have been my go to for many years. Never damaged a plant with one. Now that I grow in tents I use the stakes in conjunction with those cool little yellow yo yos and good ole zip ties to hold up those big ole colas.

  11. 100 % alcohol has the same properties, flash point, either iso or grain. Maybe FECO is a tiny bit safer when an extraction goes wrong because it's slightly less harmful if shallowed. Done right there's no alcohol left in an extraction so it should not matter.

  19. Any time I bring in a clone, I quarantine for 2 weeks at minimum. If friend has smoke that you like, then ask for a clone. This way you will know that you like the strain. I have grew out strains from seed and got rid of after first grow. The best strains that I have came from friends.

  20. I think you are not understanding the difference here. The only difference is you take the leaves off sooner with wet trimming. Please explain how leaving the leaves on a little longer could help with a cure? I'm a science guy and I'm always looking to learn things and the mechanisms behind it. You said you want to make sure 'the new grower' gets the right info. I'm an old grower since 1979. I've dried cannabis every way you can think of, however, there's always something to learn.
    3 points
  21. Exactly. Master different techniques. You can get exactly the same results from wet trimming as dry trimming. It's just easier to take the leaves and leaf tips off before they curl in. The more leaf material gone the better. Science will tell you that. The leaves hold a higher percentage of waxes and sugars that add harshness when smoked and vaped. This can be proven scientifically by careful extraction of different samples and observation of the resultant.

  22. I prefer wet trimming and hang for about 7 days, then jar up. Open jars daily for another week or two. When I cut the buds off and put on drying rack, they are dry in 4 days at 50% humidity. Each person has their preference. All I can say is try different techniques.

  24. I normally do the same but people keep telling me to cut them off so the energy can go to upper buds. The small buds are good for butter and capsules. Thank you for your input because it is good to understand the reasoning behind ones choice.

  25. I know you said you 'skimmed' the bills. You missed the point. Caregivers and these new medical specialty growers can only have 2.5 ounces per patient they register through. They will be inspected and tracked to make sure of that. Right now some caregivers are growing pounds per patient and not being inspected. That's what is happening. The big state growers want caregivers limited to 2.5 ounces per patient and inspected, tracked, and tested to prove it. The new law takes away their grow rights if they get caught over.
    2 points
  26. So very very true. I feel guilty sometimes about how much i do charge my patients, but it barley covers the cost of producing it. Simply put, this bill if passed will force all of my patients right back to the black market. I will still be able to personally grow and would continue to gift them some, but it would not be anywhere near the amount they need. This is going to have completely the opposite result they are expecting it to.

  27. These bills will be challenged and fought against im sure it is an obvious money grab by the elites in the cannabis industry.

  28. One thing you need to factor in here are all those caregiver grows set up to grow the max plants and then dump it all on the market. It's a 'thing'. I know a guy that works at a dispensary that does it. 72 huge plants. All maxed out. Going around all the regulations. Cutting the commercial line. It's not just a greedy monopoly country, it's a greedy people country. Hogs ruin it for everyone.

  29. When instructing new growers I always recommend picking a nutrient system like Fox Farms and sticking to the simplest schedule with the least additives for a baseline so they have a solid platform to start from, a solid foundation for building knowledge and experience. Pick a nutrient solution that is specific to what you are growing in. Fox Farms is for dirt. General Hydroponics is a simple solution for hydroponics (reservoir).

    Roots wont grow.

Soil too cold. Also, if the plant doesn't need to search for water the roots don't need to grow.

  37. RSO extraction uses iso alcohol and FECO extraction uses grain alcohol. What is more important is the attention to detail, not whether it's an iso or grain alcohol extraction. If you take the same buds and use iso or grain alcohol for extraction, if you perform the process correctly with either, you end up with the same end product, no difference. Either alcohol should be gone from the resultant cannabis oil.

  40. Thanks! Yes, that is why i wanted to ask before putting any links in. I will add a few pics of some of what i have grown. May start up a grow journal here too. I have some Blue Dream and some Gorilla Zkittlez on hand. Skunk and Do-si-dos coming up as well as some CBD only. If i can get 100 an oz i am usually happy with it. I aquire and grow whatever my patients request (I currently have 2 patients). Free pre rolls and samples all the time. I believe in try before you buy. Yes, quite a few dispensaries around, most with pretty decent flower and selection now and some of their prices are starting to become a lot more realistic. I shop the stores and deliver for free locally too. I also provide grow help as well if they are interested in growing themselves. I also would love to network with other growers in the area. I tend to be a seed hoarder so always have plenty around to trade. I give away my cuttings as well when i lollipop before flower.

    Gelato 33 Grow

Yes with Gelato#33 you pretty much have to keep her under control or she will get wild. bending topping cropping to get her open as possible. In flower she stretches like crazy. Her yield is a average but if you treat her right her smoke smell taste is second to none. This is the reason so many breeders use her as a mother to cross. Overall from your picture you did well on your cut! looks very nice. The cut i have turns 100% dark purple all the leaves also. Her smell is sweet and kushy.

  43. Komorn Law Victory for Medical Marijuana Patients in Michigan Court of Appeals Medical marijuana patients have had their doctor recommended use of cannabis while on probation in limbo for a long time. Lead trial attorney and advocate for marijuana law reform Michael Komorn and his dedicated team of attorneys (specifically Ally McCormick) secured a victory in the Michigan Court of Appeals for Medical Marijuana Patients As many battles for marijuana patients, caregivers and business clients represented by the Komorn Law Firm loom in the background – a decision has been made to set the tone for future cases involving those on probation. Komorn Law has been aggressive in fighting for the rights and reform for marijuana use for over 25+ years. “There is no better attorney or law firm to represent a client regarding patients, caregivers or businesses out there. They are the experts, they are the clear champions, they are the ones you need in the trench beside you when you’re out gunned by the prosecution” Steve Call 248-357-2550 KomornLaw.com Here are the key factors from the ruling as to why you should have the protections of being a medical marijuana patient. The Prosecution Argued “The prosecution argued that the district court had the ability to place restrictions on a defendant’s medication. The district court denied defendant’s motion to modify the terms of his probation, holding that it was bound by the “Circuit Court’s decision on this issue,” The Sentence of Probation “A sentence of probation is an alternative to confining a defendant in jail or prison and is granted as a matter of grace in lieu of incarceration.” “Because probation is a privilege, the revocation of probation is a penalty or the denial of a privilege. Under MCL 333.26424(a) a person is protected from penalty in any manner, or denial of any right or privilege, for the lawful use of medical marijuana.” “Therefore, a court cannot revoke probation upon the use of medical marijuana that otherwise complies with the terms of the MMMA.” “a statute or provision of a statute that conflicts with a defendant’s right to MMMA-compliant use of marijuana is preempted or superseded by the MMMA” “protection from arrest, prosecution, or penalty of any kind”. “In other words, a condition of probation prohibiting the use of medical marijuana that is otherwise used in accordance with the MMMA is directly in conflict with the MMMA and is impermissible.” “We also conclude that the revocation of probation upon the MMMA-compliant use of marijuana constitutes a “penalty” under MCL 333.26424(a) of the MMMA. The MMMA is substantially similar to the medical marijuana acts adopted in other states, including those discussed here, and immunizes persons from being subject to a penalty of any kind for the lawful use of medical marijuana.” “We conclude that provisions of the Michigan Probation Act that allow a court to prohibit a probationer’s MMMA-compliant use of marijuana impermissibly conflict with MCL 333.26427(a) and (e) of the MMMA and are unenforceable. Further, the revocation of probation upon the MMMA-compliant use of marijuana constitutes a “penalty” in violation of MCL 333.26424(a) of the MMMA.” But… Recreational vs Medical “We note, however, that the MMMA is inapplicable to the recreational use of marijuana, and thus, a trial court may still impose probation conditions related to the recreational use of marijuana and revoke probation for such recreational use, as well as for marijuana use in violation of the MMMA.” Read the Court of Appeals Opinion Here The post Victory for Medical Marijuana Patients appeared first on Michigan Medical Marijuana. 44. Thank you for asking! I am doing good, most of symptoms are gone. Still get slight chest pain, and cough. Use the canna balm for the chest and works well. Cough drops help with the slight cough. Some days no symptoms at all and others I get tired easily. Been reading quite a bit and this is normal for long haulers. Got a few clippings in clone bucket and they are looking good. I have smell back, so is nice to smell the buds. During infection I could not smell the bud of flowering plants. Wife has been lucky as she never came down with Covid. Covid was no fun at all! Stay safe and take care.

  46. To make it very simple; Clones are marijuana. It's illegal to sell marijuana without a special license and pay the appropriate fees and taxes. With that said, most prosecutors are ignoring small time sellers unless they want to use it for leverage on you for other reasons. So if you are selling clones publicly you have your neck way out there.

  48. One other thing I learned is that Covid 19 enters your lungs and blasts all your microbiology straight into your blood stream which causes mass infections strokes and heart attacks. Here's a link to a list of the science to study about the virus; Coronavirus: Research, Commentary, and News | Science | AAAS (sciencemag.org)
    2 points
  49. I'm a science nerd and I have been studying Covid 19. There's a lot of information in the published science journals that is confirmed by the peers that would refute it if they could. So the information about the virus from the studies is real. After you study you get a really good idea of how the virus works. Like the dam thing developed three hinges in the stalk that infects your cells. It morphed like no other virus ever studied. They call the hinges a 'hip, knee, and ankle'. It changed so it could avoid our immune system fighting it. You don't hear about that because it would freak people out. I believe people need the truth. Early this year it morphed to produce 5 times the spores it was producing. It did this when it met the first 'immune' person with antibodies. That's when the thing became more dangerous and made it so it was much different than any flu. When China discovered this they told all the leaders of the world about it. Yet some leaders thought we couldn't handle the truth or they are afraid to ruin their economies because people are scared. The scientists have found a few reasons why some people get it and other do not or have mild cases. One is actually what group of cave people your genes came from. Another is your blood type. They found a hidden trigger mechanism that some of us have. They think it may be that it was left behind from a past virus. Scientists have found that most children may have had a virus that only effected children which gives them an immunity that adults do not have. So my point here is you may think that one thing or another, like cannabis use, is a factor, when it's something else entirely that makes the difference. The craziest thing about this is that if we all could have just stayed home for two weeks way back in the beginning this would be gone. It wouldn't have had the chance to morph into something more deadly like we have now. And with the mass amount of cases we have now it could easily morph again into a stone cold killer of everyone on Earth or it could just become benign. Every time another person contracts it humanity rolls the dice. Many humans just don't understand the stakes here. This is a life and death struggle for humanity and some fight to be able to go to a restaurant to eat. God Bless the ignorant. I used to get angry about it now I just say God Bless Them Every One.

  50. Take the leaves off, trim it, before you dry it. Then it dries better and you don't have the leaves all curled in and stuck onto the bud. Takes ten times as long to trim a bud with leaves curled in and stuck. Might not ever get a proper trim if you don't do it wet.
