  1. Any idea what the PAR or PPFD rating is on this light? I don’t see any ref. to either. I'm running a Fluence SPYDRx PLUS LED, 660 W actual, with an AVERAGE PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density) rating above 1020 micro mol/s cross the 4x4’ footprint. I added a dimmer which allows adjustment for germination, veg and flowering. They ain’t cheap (my model currently sells for $1,500) but it’s one hell of a light. Rock hard buds too.
  2. dwkl, I’ve called, left a message, and no one has gotten back to me. When is the office staffed? Thx.
  3. I'm curious. Is anyone tracking their cost to produce an oz?
  4. I'm a CG and have a grow room in my house. Is there anything in the law that would prevent me from setting up an "off-site" grow facility? Meaning, could I rent/lease a building that is not located on my property to set up a grow room? I would, of course, raise only the number of plants - 12/patient, legally allowed.
  5. I went on Sat. Other then the rosin press comment, I totally agree with your experience. The start times were screwed up, local staff didn't know bunny muffin. I had three maybe four different workers telling me what line to go to. Round and round waiting an hour to get in, etc. etc. No map of the layout of booths, no list of vendors, the Sat. seminars were nothing, every other booth was blasting music so loud you COULDN'T hear the person next to you. The biggest disappointed for me was there wasn't any seminars about our MMMA, the new laws, the new licenses (dispensaries, growers, etc.). This was a lost opportunity for those who know to bring everyone up to speed. There were individual booths for MiLeagalize and the Regulate Marihauna like Alcohol group. Why? They both had the same petitions. This was confusing people. Also, why didn't these groups have an informational seminar to promote, recruit and explain the legalization efforts? All in all a waste of my time and dollars. The one good thing: lots of free dabs! This was probably my last cup. Maybe I'm just getting to old ...
  6. I know this topic has been discussed here in the past, but I believe it's worth reviewing. The more people that know about this the better! The following is taken from the May 28, 2017 Canna Law Blog of the law firm Harris/Bricken. http://www.cannalawblog.com/jury-nullification-is-a-real-thing-and-you-should-know-about-it/?utm_source=Harris+Bricken+-+Canna+Law+Blog&utm_campaign=af3f26ae52-RSS_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f771927421-af3f26ae52-71351949 "Most people—and even many lawyers—are surprised to learn that juries are not required to follow the law. When a jury’s conscience takes over and tells it that someone does not deserve criminal punishment for his or her actions, regardless of the law, the jury can choose to acquit. In legal terms, this is known as “jury nullification“: a systemic public safeguard from government run amok. To the chagrin of prosecutors, when jury nullification occurs, the Fifth Amendment’s Double Jeopardy Clause also prevents the acquitted person from being re-tried for the same charge."
  7. I've always been a "glass half full" kind of guy and have followed the "one in the hand is worth two in the bush" approach to life. Every step we take that loosens existing MJ laws helps establish more acceptance by the general public which that creates more acceptance, etc. Years ago I had a wise friend tell me that when struggling over making a decision that it's better to make a decision - even if it's not exactly what you want because you can always change or fine-tune the decision later. Change is slow and it always doesn't go exactly the way we want it but let's not forget where we started . . . My prediction is with the implementation of the new laws that LEO will be so busy monitoring all the new licensees, facilities, etc. that they won't have time for us little guys and will leave us alone. Sounds like a good thing to me.
  8. First, I need to update the Pot. Bicarb comment. After having read goods things about it for controlling PM I was really puzzled as to why the plant was burned so badly. I still need to review this, but upon reflecting I don't think I converted the ratio correctly. The jar calls for 1 Tbs of Green Cure to 1 gal of water. I'm now thinking I didn't convert from English to metric correctly ending up with to strong a product. I only made up 8 oz. worth. Here's what I used for the Vinegar and h2o2. Mix 4 tbs of apple cider vinegar with 1 gallon of water. Reapply every three days. One qt. H2O2 to 3 qts. water. Apply weekly. My source stated that a higher concentration of vinegar is better, but there is a risk to damaging the plants. I have used a 6 tbs to 1 gal mix without any negative issues.
  9. FWIW, I sprayed Green Cure (potassium bicarbonate) on a test plant (male, day 33 of veg) today (been fighting PM). I used the recommended amount - 1 tbs to a gallon. It burned the bunny muffin out of the leaves! Ive also been using hydrogen peroxide and apple cider vinegar at the recommended rate and neither seem to negatively effect the plants. The potassium bicarbonate fried the smaller, newer leaves the worse and I'm not sure if it will recover.
  10. TH, I'm in the same boat, i.e. back pain, can't sleep, etc. I can't recommend a strain, but the closer I get to a 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD the more effective the strain. I have noticed that a higher THC is needed, at least for me. High CDB low THC strains are very uncomfortable for me, especially in larger doses. Someone posted this on the 420mag site about "Interpening". Learning how to identify strains by their appearance (of the bud), smell, taste, etc. Lots of FAQs, videos, etc. Check it out http://www.trichomeinstitute.com/
  11. When I was in the classroom, I would use the following exercise to try to make a point with my students about the difference (if there is one) between a whopper and a little white lie. They're both a lie, right? So, you and your buddy find yourselves in a situation where there's a $10 bill and a $1.00 bill lying on the counter. Your buddy saw the $10 first and he pockets it. You take the $1.00. Both of you "stole" the money. Which one is a worse crime? Or, are they both the same, value not withstanding? We can justify and rationalize most anything, especially if I'm "better" than you, or richer, or more powerful, or, or, or.... Bottom line hypocrisy is just that: hypocrisy. Little ones or big ones it doesn't really matter.
  12. Of course, we all know the definition of "insanity", right?
  13. Putting the differences of opinion on the VPD chart aside , I wanted to provide a follow-up to my PM issue. As I stated in my initial post, the lab noted the presence of PM. I called and spoke to the technician who ran the testing, asking for more detail: could he quantity the severity, was it widespread throughout the bud, etc. He looked at his notes and brought out the samples. His notes - and he confirmed this by taking another close look at the samples - showed that the mildew was not widespread, was only on the outer leaves, and had not penetrated the actual bud. I purposely don't manicure the buds really close, which would be mandatory if I was selling through a dispensary. The tech pointed this out and told me he thought that if I went back and re-manicured, removing the outer leaves, that that would eliminate most if not all of the mildew. I did that. To know exactly what I was dealing with, I had them run a Microbiological Rapid Plate Screening with PRC Confirmation for Total Yeast, Mold and Aerobic count. The "acceptable" levels for Mold and Yeast is <10,000 cfu and <10,000 cfu for Aerobic content, i.e. bacteria. Mine came in at 4,000 each which is well below the acceptable levels. I did have to harvest a couple of plants early, fortunately, not all was lost. Thanks for all the feedback!
