  1. I am not a fan of testing mandates, but I am a fan of testing to learn more about the plant and what is in it and how those elements works synergistically to create an effect for the individuals using it. ISO certified Act Labs is the best in Michigan for this. The THC percentage appears to not be as much of a factor in overall effect- including how psychoactive that people describe it was for them. Sometimes something with 9-10% will floor people- sometimes a flower tested at 20+ % is not as strong in that regard. I was surprised to hear that value for the flower is still based on the THC content - in some places.
  2. Keep an eye on how the policy for signatures is addressed by the BOC. There is no possible way that Abrogate will be on the 2016 ballot, but the conditions could change in a way that could allow up to nearly four years to gather sigs. Abrogate could realistically be ready for 2020- which would be great.

  6. Planet Green Trees Radio Tonight! Listen LIVE 8-10 pm EST at www.planetgreentrees.com or call in 347-326-9626 Hosted by attorney Michael Komorn from Komorn Law and Chad from Birmingham Compassion Contributions from Rick Thompson from The Compassion Chronicles, Jamie Lowell from Third Coast Tonight- Update on the tragic case involving Max Lorincz of Ottawa County who was charged with a 2 year felony for the possession synthetic THC for what was actually a very small, practically unmeasurable, amount of butane hash oil. The police were originally called to his house because his wife, who suffers from mental illness, had an episode that required emergency medical attention. The Ottawa Sherriff, who arrived with EMS, took interest in the tiny smudge of concentrated cannabis, which, ultimately resulted in the removal of his 8 year old child, and felony charges alleging the illegal possession of synthetic THC. PGT host attorney Michael Komorn first heard of Max's case when Max was a call in guest to the show shortly after his case was in the news. Komorn was moved by Max's story and decided to take his case which has resulted in not only several eight hour round trips between Oakland and Ottawa Counties, but the discovery of more than he could possibly imagine. Komorn Law shared what was believed to be some very serious fundamental due process violations of Max’s case and caught the attention of many legal professionals and reform organizations such as international civil rights attorney Jeff Frazier, Cps expert Attorney Jennifer Ani, JD, scientist Donald P. Land, PhD, Charmie Gholson of Michigan Moms United, Diane Wattles Goldstien, Neil Franklin, Steve Miller of LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition), ACT Labs in Lansing, and others. The question to be answered is - why did this team assemble to help Max? Also- The MILegalize campaign is challenged with raising $100,000 in matching funds for October. 10. High Times is a business- they make no qualms about that. Because they are a business that looks to generate revenue, does not mean that they are particularly greedy. They offer things at certain costs that they believe the market will respond to. If people didn't favorably respond to what they are doing- they would have to change approach or quit. However, people do pay the Cup entry fees, the vendor fees and for tickets for admission. No one is obligated to participate, and until High Times finds it difficult to continue working as it does- there is no reason for it to change. In addition- they offer an excellent forum for education and updates on important issues related to cannabis -at these events-from the benefits and qualities and various uses of the plant to the politics and laws surrounding it. They also allow many groups to have free space - including the MMMA this year. El Presidente- Michael Komorn was prominent on two very important panels concerning civil asset forfeiture and on the issue of autism along with Jim Powers, Joe Stone and Dr Bogner. This is not an issue for idealists to wait around and hope that others succumb to their point of view. This is reality in 2015. The cannabis movement is much better with High Times involved than without it.
  11. http://thecompassionchronicles.com/2015/09/04/tommy-chong-speaks-out-on-legalizing-marijuana/?fullweb=1 04 Sep, 2015 PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ACTOR/COMEDIAN TOMMY CHONG ENDORSES THE MILEGALIZE MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION PROPOSAL IN MICHIGAN Radio spots featuring Chong running in northern Michigan market in September; find audio clips at www.milegalize.com September 4, 2015 LANSING– “I support the legalization of marijuana and the smartest way to get this done in Michigan is the MILegalize proposal… Support MILegalize. I do.” Those words, uttered by motion picture actor, comedian and cultural icon Tommy Chong have been heard on Michigan’s radio airwaves as of September 1. For now the spots are being broadcast only on station 98.5 WUPS. With a broadcast area covering central and northern Lower Peninsula, their signal reaches cities like Mount Pleasant, Houghton Lake and the Traverse area. Air time for the WUPS radio spots was donated by Indoor Grower’s Edge, a chain of indoor gardening stores in the Cadillac/Big Rapids/Mt. Pleasant area. Chong’s participation was facilitated by ownership of BDT’s Pipe and Tobacco Shops. “Without BDT’s and Indoor Grower’s Edge, this opportunity with WUPS would not have happened,” said MILegalize Board member Jamie Lowell. MILegalize is seeking corporate or private donations to launch these audio clips into other radio markets around Michigan. “The best laws come from the people, not the politicians, and that’s why I support MILegalize,” Chong says in one commercial. In another he says, “Fund schools, fix roads, right-size our government. If these issues are important to you, MILegalize is the proposal for you.” Chong made headlines during a recent trip to Michigan by offering a marijuana joint to Hazel Park Mayor Jan Parisi during the Hash Bash weekend. The offer drew laughter and support from the citizens and media present. Chong’s speech during the 2015 Bash was the most highly anticipated appearance in the event’s recent history. “As a spokesperson, it’s hard to beat the cultural recognition you get from a Tommy Chong,” said MILegalize Chair, attorney Jeffrey Hank. “He’s a hero to many Americans not because of the stoner persona, but because he’s beaten cancer using cannabis, he’s endured jail for his beliefs, he’s been through the system and came out on top.” Audio bits from Chong can be heard by visiting the MILegalize website at www.milegalize.com MEDIA CONTACT: Jamie Lowell info@milegalize.com 734 276-6318 Paid for with regulated funds by the Michigan Comprehensive Cannabis Law Reform Committee, P. Hency, her husband and four children arrived at the courthouse Wednesday morning to the news that the prosecutor is no longer pursing criminal or civil charges against her. “Obviously we're thrilled charges have been dismissed.,” said Michigan Moms United Founder Charmie Gholson. “We hope reporters will continue reporting on progress in Gin's case until we see it's logical conclusion. We urge Prosecutor Amy Stover, who said in the courtroom yesterday, “We are dismissing this appeal case in the interest of justice,” to actively institute reforms in policy and ensure families like the Hency's are kept out of her court room, just like the voters intended.” “Gin Hency's case doesn't end with the prosecutor publicly celebrating the dismissal of five medical marihuana cases. It ends when these families receive their property, and we've ensured these governmental abuses are stopped. In the further pursuit of justice, Michigan Moms United calls for the St. Clair Prosecutors office to likewise dismiss all medical marijuana cases before the court at this time, and provide a reasonable model of protection for state registry participants.
