Don't put old HID bulbs in new electronic and digital ballasts, it'll work but the bulb will fail faster, their incompatible, find the new lights made for the new ballast. Try a few different new fertilizers on a few of your plants to figure out the best fertilizer for your grow garden. When growing hydroponic marijuana use Ph meters, it's important to have the right measurement. Don't wait for color change, use a microscope to see when your plant is ready for harvest, it should have 2/3 balls on the tops of the crystals of THC. Don't go into your grow room during the night cycle, leave it alone. When cutting your plants make sure you sterilize your scissors or clippers, wash your hands regularly, bacteria and fungus contamination is easy. Some growers are now using a fungicide on seeds before and during the germination process. Marijuana Growing Advancements: A growing light revolution has been going on for a few years now, as seen with birth of electronic and digital ballasts which are more compact, weigh less, consume less energy, delivering more efficient energy, create less heat, and save money. 2. I Just smoked, my desription of how I feel at this moment; Ok so I just smoked a joint of a strain called Super Bee, a card holding friend stopped by to give it a try cause I was having some pretty bad back spams, and saw no sleep in my future. So its been about lets say 10 minutes give or take, Once we started smoking I could instanly taste what would be desribed as earthy, with a pine flavor and smell?. Got to be around the 3rd hit and the buzz effect starting to kick in, were about 1/2 way done with the joint at this point. I at this point start to feel my spasms in my back begin to untense up and the twitching started to go away, I still have a pretty good head buzz at this time, not to the point of "duh whats going on" I am now at the place that I have no real pain at all the effects of the head buzz have made me forget that I was in pain before we started..We have finshed the joint by this time, and I feel pretty "medicated" I seem to be thinking alot, nothing in particular just lots of things going through my head. I don't feel any pain anymore, I know I still hurt, but I just don't feel the pain anywhere now since I smoked, pretty cool thing!. Umm what else my memory is fine all my motor skills seem to be normal no more back spasms and my anxiety has dropped immensely, still have that heavy feeling in my head, Don't quite know how to put it in words. It has taken a while but I would label this bud a "creeper buzz" cause 10 minutes ago I was medicated its going on 20 minutes or so and the effect is much stronger. I feel great, I keep trying to desribe how I feel as it starts to effect me more and more, But all I can desribe is how I don't have any pain that I can feel at the moment? I tried laying down to fall asleep and my mind is racing still, this is normal for me when I smoke. I would say that when the effects of the head buzz start to go away (10-20 minutes) that I will be able to shut my eyes and fall alseep cause still 30 minutes later and I'm not feeling the back twisting pinching shooting pains I felt just prior to ingesting it, and that to me is a medication that has done its job it effectively stopped my pain and kept my mind busy so much so that I forgot that I was even struggling with back spasms just a 30-45 minutes ago. Well that was my smoke report and how this strain effected me, it helped with all the right things I needed assitance with at the time. THANK YOU CANNABIS! I leave the reply/comments open to you all on how you are effected after you medicate, I did this so people can read and see what they may expect after they inhale cannabis for the first time, or the regular user that has a certain strain they want to share the report on.
  3. So every day I read more and more about dispensaries, and government this and that.. LEOs hate this law due to lack of funding stemming from Marijuana arrests.. I was theorizing this morning with a buddy of mine.. I can see it now, the Government run dispensaries will cancel out our rights to grow our own, which in turn will put a halt to the "legal home grow" That will satisfy LEO cause they will now be able to raid each suspected home that has a grow and seize all the equipment and still get to charge you with a cannabis related charge. seems to be looking up for the big guys imo.. They get to corner the MM market, and seeing as it wont be legal to grow your own anymore they know 40-60% of people have involvement in growing they have a huge new group of Marijuana users to target to hit their quota.. I'm not excited about the future at all All this belly aching about your precious dispensaries is going to ruin everything for alot of people that just want to get by and not have to go through another fiasco run by the government the same people that have no idea wtf is good or bad.. its all about the money $$ Is it REALLLLLLY that hard to find some herb, the stuff thats been around since the beginning of freaking time?? Can't they setup a web based program that makes it easy like a click of the button kind of stuff for the real square/newbie. Kinda like buying insurance you have a site setup with CG's the new pt goes through finds your ad that fits what your looking for and move along???? Sorry my rant is out of frustration, I just have this nasty feeling that the police and suits will get their way.. and Marijuana arrests will be here to stay.. legal or not.
  4. Medical Marijuana Using Canadian Mountie Under Fire A Canadian Mounted Police Officer who is also a medical marijuana patient is under fire from anti-marijuana activists who believe he should not be able to keep his job. Corporal Ronald Francis began using medical marijuana on November 4 for job-related stress. Francis believes he should be allowed to smoke medical marijuana while in uniform, but his superiors believe that smoking medical marijuana could tarnish the mounted police’s reputation. Cannabis advocates are arguing that employers, including the RCMP, need to better understand medical marijuana and their employees medical needs. RCMP Deputy Commissioner Gilles Moreau explained to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation that officers are allowed to use medical marijuana but they should not do it in public or while in uniform. “Definitely a member that has been prescribed medicinal marijuana should not be in red serge taking his medication,” Moreau was quoted as saying. ”It would not be advisable for that member, it would not portray the right message to the general public, it’s definitely not something we would support or condone.” Francis is currently assigned to desk duty and does not carry a gun. 5. UK Police Find $1 Million of Marijuana in Nuclear Bunker On Wednesday morning, UK police made a huge raid at a large, well-equipped marijuana growing operation in the Drakelow Tunnels, which were used as a nuclear bunker for government officials in the 1950s in case of a nuclear attack. The grow was underneath the English town of Kidderminster. A total of 400 marijuana plans were discovered, estimated to be worth just over $1 million. The factory had hydroponic equipment, heating, lighting, and ventilation fans. The operation utilized 30 police officers and K9 units. Kevin Purcell, Norther Worcestershire Superintendent, explained, “While executing the warrant at Drakelow Tunnels, we discovered a large and sophisticated cannabis growing operation. Although the plants will need to be tested, it would appear that the seizure has prevented a large quantity of illegal drugs ending up on the street.” The raid was part of a new three-year anti-drug strategy being implemented in the UK. Local police began implementing the plan in September, looking to eliminate large illegal substance distributors. Cannabis remains the most seized illegal drug in England. According to Home Office statistics, 12,267 kilograms of marijuana and 507,401 cannabis plants were confiscated by the police and border service last year. [Source]
  6. Denver City Council Votes Against Marijuana in Public View on Private Property On Monday night, the Denver, Co. City Council voted to approve an ordinance that would ban people from using marijuana in a private yard or on a balcony if the users could be seen from a street or a sidewalk. This could keep people from smoking marijuana on their front porch or in a backyard that is not surrounded by fencing. The measure was passed on first reading with a 7-5 vote. “Everyone up here tonight is going to make some enemies,” Councilman Charlie Brown told his colleagues. While outspoken on the need to regulate marijuana, Brown said: “I can’t support it. I believe in individual private property rights.” One opponent of the ordinance told the council, “I would rather see police going after serious drug problems than playing security patrol for the Stepford wives.” On the other side of the issue, a parent argued that allowing residents to smoke pot in their front yards “undermines our conversations with our children by making it appear OK.” Many marijuana advocates believe the ordinance is hypocritical given that individuals can smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol in public view on their private property, which could also send the message that those actions are “OK”. Mason Tvert, head of the City Council’s Amendment 64 Committee, said that “there’s no reason to put into place a virtually unenforceable law.” Tvert believes that the issue should be handled by individual communities through homeowner association rules or nuisance abatement laws. The council will hold the second vote on this matter next Monday. It is expected that it will pass again. [Source]
  7. New York to Hold Medical Marijuana Hearings In December, the state of New York will hold public hearings in Buffalo and Mineola on legalizing marijuana for medical purposes. The hearings are part of lawmaker efforts to get voters on board with the idea of legalizing medical marijuana. A bill proposed by Senator Diane Savino and Assemblyman Richard Gottfriend would regulate the sales and dispensing of medical marijuana. Under their proposal, physicians licensed to prescribe controlled substances could certify patients to use medical marijuana. Those patients would register with the state’s Department of Health before being able to access their medication. Medical marijuana would be dispensed through hospitals, pharmacies, or other not-for-profit organizations. The hearings are sponsored by the New York State Assembly. They are scheduled for 10 a.m., Dec. 5, Buffalo City Hall; and 10 a.m., Dec. 18, Nassau County Legislative Chambers. [Source]
  8. Liberia Destroys Over 650 Pounds of Marijuana by Burning It Liberia’s Drug Enforcement Agency burned over 650 pounds of marijuana that was seized as part of a nationwide crackdown on drug traffickers. According to officials, the marijuana was smuggled into the country from Sierra Leone by a member of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s motorcade staff. It is estimated that the marijuana was worth $4 million. The presidential aide, Perry Dolo, used an official vehicle to transport the marijuana. He and at least three other men with whom he was traveling were arrested shortly after crossing the border. Liberia’s Information Minister, Lewis Brown, said the burning was to show that there will be no tolerance for drug-related crimes. Liberia has had problems with drug smuggling for quite some time. It is illegal to grow, buy, or sell marijuana in the country. However, penalties for drug crimes are relatively inconsequential and are rarely enforced. Smuggling of marijuana from Sierra Leone is common, and many farmers in the region opt to grow marijuana with little repercussion. [Source]
  9. Florida Couple Unknowingly Smuggles Marijuana From Louisiana A Florida couple unknowingly smuggled 11 pounds of marijuana to Louisiana after a strange series of events led them to be in possession of two locked suitcases that contained the weed. The situation began in July, when a package was delivered to the Louisiana vacation home of the Florida couple. The husband told the housekeeper that the delivery must have been a mistake and had her send it back to UPS. The package was later reshipped to the home by UPS, so the cleaning lady put it inside. During the couple’s recent trip to Louisiana, they decided to open the package and saw that there were two locked suitcases inside. Thinking the bags were lost luggage being returned to someone, they tossed them in their truck and planned to deal with them later, authorities said. It was only once the couple got back to their home in Florida that they cut off the locks and found eleven pounds of marijuana inside. The sheriff’s office was called and officers seized the marijuana. According to Monroe County Sheriff Sgt. Al Ramirez, the marijuana would be destroyed. “This could have been really bad,” Ramirez said in a statement. “These people were traveling all over with this stuff in their truck. If they had been pulled over with it, they could have wound up in jail and their truck may have been seized.” It remains unclear who sent the package to the Louisiana rental home and why they chose that particular address. 10. Marijuana Legalization Bill Fails in Maine On Thursday, the Maine State Legislature failed to pass a bill that would have legalized, taxed, and regulated recreational marijuana for individuals age 21 and older. The Legislative Council voted 5-5 on the measure, stopping it from moving forward to a full Senate vote. The marijuana legalization bill was introduced by Representative Diane Russell. This was Russell’s third time introducing the bill. Earlier this month, Portland, Me. voters passed a law legalizing the possession and use of marijuana by adults in city limits. However, when it came time to potentially extend that legalization to the entire state, one of Portland’s own lawmakers cast a dissenting vote. Senate President Justin Alfond, a Democrat who represents Portland in conjunction with Russell, voted against the legalization legislation. David Boyer, the Maine political director at the Marijuana Policy Project, expressed his disappointment over Alfond’s vote. He said, “To have a senator that represents a large portion of Portland, where an average of 80 percent of voters supported the initiative, is kind of disheartening.” The bill will be reconsidered in 2015. 13. Poll: 82 Percent Favor Medical Marijuana Miami -- If a medical marijuana initiative makes Florida's ballot next year, it could pass with an astonishing 82 percent of the vote, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday that finds voters also favor outright legalization as well. Support for the proposed constitutional amendment is strong among voters of every political stripe, age and income level, with independents lending the most support: 88 percent, the poll shows. The overall 82-16 percent support for medical marijuana is the biggest to date. The previous high-point for Florida approval was about 70 percent in a poll taken earlier this year by the medical-marijuana advocacy group, People United for Medical Marijuana. Read More...
  14. Raids on Colorado Pot Hint at a Crackdown Colorado -- The coordinated raids of at least a dozen Denver dispensaries on Thursday are the latest federal law enforcement actions to occur in the wake of legalization votes last November in Colorado and Washington states. The coordinated raids in Colorado follow raids that took place in Washington this summer, and when analyzed side by side, the federal actions hint at an emerging pattern in organized pot crackdowns. Characterized by cooperation across multiple levels of government and timed to deliver maximum political effect, this new method of federal interference with the medical marijuana movement sends a clear message to a marijuana industry still in its formation stages. 16. Details of WV Medical Marijuana Bill Emerge Charleston, W.Va. -- The first details about a proposal to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes in West Virginia emerged on Wednesday during a legislative committee meeting. The legislature's Joint Health Committee was told during an interim meeting that a bill allowing the use of medical marijuana is being drafted for consideration in the upcoming legislative session. The National Conference of State Legislatures says 20 states and the District of Columbia allow the use of medical marijuana, though it's still prohibited under federal law. West Virginia lawmakers have spent time learning about the issue in at least one previous interim meeting earlier this year. Charles Roskovensky, chief counsel for the House Committee on Health and Human Resources, told the joint committee that a bill he's drafting for them would allow people with certain illnesses like cancer and glaucoma to possess up to six ounces of marijuana. If the bill becomes law, registered patients would be able to purchase medical marijuana at five 'compassion centers' throughout the state that would be chosen through a competitive bid process, he said. Registered patients would also be allowed to have a limited number of 12 marijuana plants, he said. Roskovensky said the bill was not in its final form and solicited suggestions from lawmakers who serve on the Joint Health Committee, and directed questions about the proposal to the committee's co-chairmen. It wasn't clear how much support the proposal would have in the committee. No vote was taken and comments were limited, with most questions and discussion being deferred to another time. Still, marijuana legalization supporters celebrated that the discussion was happening at all. "Marijuana has proven medical benefits, and seriously ill individuals should be able to use it without fear of arrest and prosecution," Marijuana Policy Project legislative analyst Matt Simon said in a prepared statement. "We are pleased to see legislators are educating themselves on the issue, and we hope they will move forward with this compassionate and much-needed legislation." Source: Associated Press (Wire)
  17. 20 Thousand Pounds of Marijuana Seized at Arizona Border US Border Protection officials in Arizona seized over 20,000 pounds of marijuana at the Mariposa port of entry on the outskirts of Nogales. The seizure is being called the largest in Arizona. The marijuana’s estimated value is $10.1 million. The Mariposa port of entry to the United States is used primarily by commercial drivers, including trucks carrying Mexican produce to the US. Previously, the largest recorded marijuana seizure by the US Customs and Border Protection in Arizona was 14,121 pounds on January 15, 2013. [Source]
  18. Activist Group Planting Marijuana in Germany’s Public Parks In the German city of Gottingen, a group of marijuana activists is protesting against the nation’s “demonization” of pot by sowing several pounds of marijuana seeds throughout the city’s public parks and gardens. The group started their campaign in June. They call themselves “A Few Autonomous Flower Children” and claim that their planting is in protest of Germany’s “restrictive drug policies.” The group is now gaining more attention as their plants are finally beginning to bloom. Police are now fighting to keep the plants from growing. Some were even planted directly in front of the police station. The local chapter of Green Youth (GJ) has started a photo contest for people to send in pictures of marijuana sprouting up throughout the city. [Source]
  19. Mizeur To Propose Legalization of Marijuana Maryland -- Maryland Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Heather R. Mizeur on Tuesday will propose legalizing marijuana and using the tax revenue it generates to fund pre-kindergarten education, according to an advance copy of her plan. Mizeur, a Montgomery County delegate who faces Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown and Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler in next year’s Democratic primary, proposes that Maryland regulate marijuana much like it does alcohol. She estimates that taxing the drug could yield up to $157.5 million in new revenue for the state each year. Read More...
  20. Don’t Treat MMJ Patients Like Recreational Users Washington -- Gov. Jay Inslee and the state’s legislators are poised to make history as they devise a plan to harmonize their medical cannabis program with one that allows anyone 21 or older to buy and possess marijuana. What Washington lawmakers decide will shape how patients are treated elsewhere in the nation. Inslee has shown courage implementing Initiative 502, pushing the federal government through letters and meetings to accept his state’s new adult-use marijuana law. As a congressman, he fought to protect the medical cannabis program in his state from federal interference. Now that same determination is needed to support the spirit of the 1998 medical-marijuana state initiative that created safe access. Read More...
  21. U.S. Attorneys in California Defy Obama on MMJ California -- Last week, the Alameda County (CA) Board of Supervisors passed a resolution asking the Federal government to, "end Federal interference on the municipal and state laws allowing medical marijuana, and... requests that President Obama begin a discussion about the potential benefits of reforming federal laws on marijuana use in all forms, including medicinal and recreational uses." Their desire for clarification and support on this issue is understandable. Two of the oldest and most respected dispensaries in California, Harborside Health Center and Berkeley Patients Group, both in Alameda County, have been targeted by the Feds on numerous occasions, even in light of strict regulations imposed by their localities, and a squeaky clean track record of providing both a crucial public health service and a large amount of tax revenue. 22. Half of Wisconsin Voters Favor Marijuana Legalization, Lawmakers Not On Board A new poll by the Marquette University Law School shows that 49.7% of Wisconsin voters support the legalization of recreational marijuana. However, that does not mean that lawmakers are on the same page. In a recent interview, gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke was asked what she though about cannabis legalization. Although Burke has indicated that she could support legalizing medical marijuana, she answered, “I don’t think that’s where the people of Wisconsin are at.” Even lawmakers who have proposed medical marijuana bills in the state, including Senator Jon Erpenbach and Representative Chris Taylor, have indicated that they are not totally on board with the recreational legalization of marijuana. Even medical marijuana seems like a stretch for Wisconsin, as not even one Republican signed on to Taylor and Erpenbach’s legislation earlier this year. [Source]
  23. Washington Starts Accepting Applications for Recreational Marijuana Licenses On Monday, Washington State will begin accepting applications from individuals hoping to obtain a license to operate a recreational marijuana business. Applications will be accepted from hopeful growers, shop owners, and edible companies. For a period of thirty days, the state will accept applications. “This is a historic first,” said Beverly Crichfield of the Department of Revenue, which will start accepting the special marijuana business license applications Monday morning. They’ll be processed and forwarded to the Liquor Control Board for review, and should be issued early next year. Crichfield said the Revenue Department, which will be the first stop for license applications for would-be marijuana businesses, has seen a noticeable uptick in queries about the licenses in the past week, both over the phone and in person. There’s also been an increase in the number of people trying to register as a marijuana business without the special form. They’re being told to wait until the form is available after 8 a.m. Monday. Despite interest, Crichfield was unsure of what type of volume to expect. Interested individuals can learn more about the state’s application process here. [Source]
  24. Utah Doctors Endorse Medical Marijuana Tinctures This week, three Utah physicians wrote a letter to the state Controlled Substances Advisory Committee to endorse the use of medical marijuana for patients, including the use of marijuana tinctures for children suffering from debilitating illnesses, such as epilepsy. The letter was written by pediatric neurologist Dr. Francis Filloux. Filloux and his colleagues join a recent push by a Utah mother to change the state law to allow the use of cannabis oil extract. “The substance is not psychoactive or hallucinogenic,” Filloux said in his letter, which was co-signed by two other university doctors. “It has absolutely no abuse potential.” By not allowing the cannabis oil in Utah, “we would be making the decision to limit access of our children to a potentially life-improving therapy,” Filloux wrote. The Controlled Substances Advisory Committee, which is comprised of physicians, pharmacists, and law enforcement, does not have the power to simply allow any form of medical marijuana. However, they can provide recommendations about legislation to the state legislature. Utah Representative Gage Froerer has already announced that he plans to introduce a bill in January that would allow hemp products, including marijuana tinctures. Tinctures can be considered a hemp product due to their extremely low THC content. [Source]
