Grow Journal For Dr Greenthumbs Chemdawg#4 Cut

Recommended Posts

It's a birthday today! One month old to the day. My babies were born on exactly 4/20 at 12:00 pm. Everything is going great, the mutant is still kicking, and all is well!

I have given foliar feeds with Botanicare's Liquid Karma and Higrocorp's Organa Add. Molasses has been added to the soil as well. I am not going to top these this time around. I asked Doc about his experience topping this strain and his exact reply was:

I don't top Chemdawg at all, but if you're going to do so I'd prune it radially, starting at the second node and pinching it off at the 6th.

I will try both ways next round and see what happens.

I know it's still early, but anyone who doubts the stability take a look at the pictures. They look like five clones growing next to each other.

They sure do -- I had to scroll back up to double-check my first impression.  I thought for a minute you had just posted up 4 photos of the same plant!

Looking nice and healthy there porcupine, nice job!

They do look similar to the one particular ChemdawgD cutting I kept. The exaggerated jagged serrations and leaf pedal shape are tell tale. One of those rare occasions I took a cutting without testing a sample first.

Some say D is closer to the real deal and some say 4 is. Never had the original so I can't say one way or the other. If there are any Chemdawg4 cuttings out there I'll find one though ;).

Here is a quick update:

I just noticed a couple of pre-flowers tonight 5/30 on several of the plants. This is exactly 40 days from germination.

Basically I am in a holding position, as I am starting clones of each plant, and want to make sure they are rooted before I put the originals into the flowering cycle. I have started giving them 1 Tablespoon per gallon of Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Vegetative Formula( NPK 3-1.5-4 ) and Botanicare's Liquid Karma( NPK .1-.1-.5 ) at 2 teaspoons per gallon at every watering. I have also started adding Higrocorp's OrganaAdd( NPK 2-0-0 ) at 1 teaspoon per gallon every three waterings. The plants are watered every other night on average. They are receiving a foliar feed once a week with OrganAdd at 2 teaspoons per gallon and Liquid Karma at 1.5 teaspoons per gallon. All the mixtures are PH balanced to 6.0-6.5 . Their average daytime high temperatures have been around 80-85 degrees with a night time average of around 70- 75 degrees. I will be transplanting them into 3 gallon plastic nursery pots with Fox Farms Happy Frog Potting Soil in the next couple of days. I will make sure to take, and post pictures before I transplant them.

When the time comes they will be flowered under either a 1000 watt Hortilux HPS-EN or a 1000 watt Hortilux Blue HPS. I have't decided yet.

I am transplanting them into 3 gallon pots tonight filled with Fox Farm's Happy Frog soil. Here are a few pictures, sorry about the quality again but a new camera is on the way, and the flowering pics are what really counts. They are on average about 12.5" tall and I am expecting about a 200% stretch so they should end up in the 3 foot range or slightly bigger at harvest. The mutant is way behind and I am not sure how she will do, so I am going to hold her back a bit. The other five will hit the 12/12 cycle in a few days, after they have adjusted to the transplant, and I am sure that I have a clone of each.

Looking Good Porcupine. That mutant looks quite interesting, I'll be watching. Thanks for the pictures.

Yeah, I just hope she makes it and is something special. She is WAY behind all the others and you can tell her root system is not what it should be, as I only have to water her half as often as the others, if that. As of now I think I'll call her the Romaine Lettuce pheno.

Very interesting plant and name. Is it nute burned too? or is that just how it is growing?

I have a mutant too. She has webbed leaves. I have pics in my gallery.

It's just the way she is growing. None of the others have any type of burn.

Update: I just put the five girls in the flower room as I am seeing roots on the cuttings. Now comes the good part! The girls are between 15"-18" and should be solid 4-4.5 foot plants in 60-75 days. They are now under a 1000 watt digital HPS system using a Hortilux LU1000/HTL/EN bulb.

Looking forward to seeing the progress on these!
