Kidney Stones And Chronic Kidney Pain

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am a 26 year old male that has suffered repeated attacks of kidney stones since I was 17.

I just passed my 7th kidney stone not to long ago (I hope).

This has left me with a lot of chronic lower back pain and kidney pain.

I have been proscribed vicodin and I know I could go back and get more.

But vicodin and other pain killers that have me puking and make me very itchy.

On top of the side effects god knows what the pain killers are doing to my kidneys.

Its not a once and a while pain it is at least 3 or more times a day...

So here is my question FINALLY....thanks for waiting...

I live in Michigan, Can I be prescribed medicinal marijuana?

If so could someone give me a right direction on where to go?

I live in the Detroit area.....I am a U.S. Veteran and I know

the VA cannot prescribe me the medication cause of federal laws....

So I need a local state doctor....

please help!!!!

thanks

Jerry

Jerry,

Thank you for serving our great country my brother. Sorry to hear of your pain, but it does possibly qualify you for the medical cannabis treatment. Chronic pain is a qualifying condition. Many questions can be answered here but I recommend finding a Compassion Club too. Meet some great people, new friends. That's where you can get the networking started. You'll probably need it, maybe not.

What you are seeking cannot be prescribed, per se. It is a Dr's recommendation. Can be obtained either through your doctor, or a specialized clinic. Many clinics specializing in patient certifications exist. Generally, they charge in the order of $200 for the visit, some like THCF with a sliding scale based upon income.

Best of luck, don't ever hesitate to ask a question here or send folks a PM.

May we all remember to thank/hug our Veterans, current Service Members and their families for their unrelenting efforts to keep all Americans from the dangers of the International Crazy-Asses.

First off,

It was an honor to serve my country and thank you for your support to our troops.

Also thank you so much for your reply it has been very useful.

I have emailed my current doctor to see what she would say about my chronic pain.

She works for the VA so due to "federal laws" she cannot prescribe or find me a doctor.

I asked her however if it would be in my best interest to look into it.

I am currently waiting on a reply from that. I also found a local doctor.

The charge was correct about 200$ but I receive social security disability

and VA disability so it maybe a bit cheaper....

If all goes well I can post the prices I paid at a later time.

once again thank you and I will look for a compassion club in my area.

best regards,

Jerry
