Atty General Candidates

We all know the problems we have with the current AG, & Much focus has been given to where the gubernatorial candidates stand on mmj. There is also a race for a new AG.

These are the candidates:

Do we know where they stand? Not just on the mmj law overall, but the whole host of issues surrounding it? Come January, one of these guys is going to be making statewide calls on just what leo can and cannot do.

Hey Urban Farmer, Don't forget Dan Grow. He's a libertarian out of St. Joe, MI and has defended quite a few medical marijuana cases. Props to you for keeping us informed on the political process.

Hello,

David Leyton of Genesee County has said on TV that they wouldn't be persueing medical marijuana and would focus on the real drug problems of herion and meth. Not sure on other aspects of his platform as pertaining to MMJ but he seems friendly towards it from the CH 12 story I seen him in.

we need a compiled list for people so they can know the MM friendly candidates to vote for, I'm looking for a site I can send people to. Prob'ly not many wanna come out in favor, because it's so controversial, maybe they fear it'll hurt their campaign.

Guest CaveatLector

The ONLY Dem. option for AG is David Leyton. There are no other Dem. candidates as Leyton won the party nomination in April. He WILL be selected at the convention in Aug.

So what does that mean? It means VOTE DAVID LEYTON FOR MICHIGAN AG. The Rep. candidates are not going to be anymore helpful to us than Cox presently is being. The Libertarian candidate doesn't stand a chance (as usual) so even if he is MM friendly you are going to throw your vote away if you vote for him. We need ALL of our votes to count.

Vote Leyton for AG in Nov.

Keep in mind that the AG has the power to issue an AG's opinion which has the force and effect of law. If Cox decided to work for the people who elected him then he would issue such an opinion that states that the cops are breaking the law if they do not accept paperwork. If he would just clarify things then there would not be this NEEDLESS waste of resources. Everything from:

You showing up to court 3 or 4 times to get things dismissed

Cops and other witnesses showing up to court and getting their overtime or witness pay.

Cops wasting valuable time dealing with these issues when they could be writing that speeding ticket instead.

Courts wasting their time and cluttering their dockets.

Prosecutors wasting their time.

ETC.!

All of that would change if Cox ran the office for the people by whom he was elected rather than running it for the party faithful. He doesn't want the political "black eye" before the primary. He's a political weasel. He is suing the Obama administration to garner support of the party faithful and he is taking a hands-off approach to MM so he doesn't have to state the obvious, that cops and the MDCH are running amuck.

Vote David Leyton for AG if you want your lives to be easier regarding MM.
