How Does One Delete A 'friend'?

I'm referring to the 'Manage Friends' screen -- it doesn't seem to have an option to remove a 'friend'. Am I missing something? Is this possible? Does it even matter?

 

Not quite sure of the point of this whole 'Friends' part of the site, but I guess real life is that way for me also. Still, I would prefer to remove any link between myself and this crazy character who got himself rightfully banned just after 'friending' me.
