My patient has just informed me that Emmet County Juvinile and Family Court has decided that the children would be more stable in a home where there is not a medical mmj patient while charges are pending.

Any child and family advocates in here?

I realize they are sorting things out, and hopefully once they do you guys will be fine. But, that doesn't help when you are going through it! It deosn't help the fear the kids are feeling, it doesn't help the stress this causes patients that already have illnesses.

 

There are protections built into the law. It feels like your protections have been trampled ALL over.

This really pisses me off. This is illegal what the authorities are doing to you and your patient. Your rights are being violated and you unfortunately have become another victim to this bs. I don't see how all this discrimination is allowed to continue either. I hope when the dust settles that you all have the strength and energy to sue the shiit out of your local LE. Contact your local news stations and get this story out there. Whoever is the PA should be thrown out. Makes absolutely no sense that they can and are arguing against the written law. This is the 3rd case like this I've heard of myself. Imagine how many others are suffering through similar situations without a support system like this or any way to get help. Of course, I'm with everyone else here that getting a great attorney is priority number 1. I also think going to the local media is a FANTASTIC idea. This law passed with overwhelming public popularity. I wonder how all the voters would feel about the law they voted for being abused to destroy families? Of course, talk to an attorney before going to the press. You wouldn't want to do anything to jeopardize the prospect of family reunification.

Personally, I'd sooner give up the kids than quit the cannabis. Let someone else deal with the little troublemakers.

 

So much trouble in the world - that cannabis is causing. It's a shame we can't evaluate each and every household in America to determine if parents are responsible enough to be raising their own children. Half this nation is already orphaned from it's birthrights, anyway, and such a tribunal cleansing would allow humanitarian aid to go directly to the orphans instead of chronically bad parents (conservatively estimated at half the population) that are using the good graces of Christian gov't/society to drop out (turn Liberal) and smoke MJ.

 

What's puzzling about the verdicts of forcefully separating families because of a parent's association with marijuana use is that it stems from a political ideology claiming to abhor big government.
