Acquiring Medicine At Dispensaries

Recommended Posts

With all the dispensaries opening, I'm just wondering as a patient or caregiver can you just walk in and purchase your meds through them? Or are they limited on who can buy from them? I am under the impression as a patient or caregiver you can legally acquire your meds anywhere in MI. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much!!

As long as you have your card, or paperwork with proof of cashed check or money order receipt, your good to go. Although I have heard that some will want you to sign up as a patient, or pay a membership fee. I wouldn't go to one of those but that's just me.

Mt. Pleasant - You need to have a PATIENT card, and a picture I.D., and join the Club....like $5 for one month. Cheaper, per month, if you do a longer term.

A person who is only a Caregiver, can not purchase.

Paperwork - Don't bother, they want the Card.... and it has to be a Patient's card.

The City Police and City Council are not stopping them, as long as they go by these "extra self imposed rules" At first I was ticked, but now I see it as "cover your donkey"

Peace.

Every dispensary is different. Some want card holders only, others will accept paperwork w/proof of cashed check at least 20 days old. As far as membership, some charge, some dont. Ann Arbors membership will get you discounted meds (v.i.p. membership $100 a year save you $60 per oz), But others like Ferndale have a membership, but doesnt cost anything. Check around the site, most are listed somewhere and call ahead. Some like you to make an appointment so theres not 50 people hangin out waiting for meds.
