Let's Ressurect Our Federal Chance!

Recommended Posts

There is a federal medical marijuana bill in committee right now that could make all this nasty saginaw, denver, and oakland business go away. Its House Bill Hr 2835. Here's a link to info about it. We need to organize a letter writing campaign to tell Obama and the legislators we elected, that this bill is an important issue to us and one that must be dealt with now. Obama keeps saying there are "bigger priorities" right now. Bigger than sick people being rounded up and arrested for making medicine? I say not, and personally Im sick of the Himhawing. Lets get this bill out of the energy committee and onto the floor where it belongs. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-2835

Could not agree more!

If the laws are changed at the Federal level all this other stuff goes away.

I've written my Federal reps several times before and I'll do it again.

If we don't let our Federal reps know of the need to change the 'laws' it will never get done.

Thanks for the info and the reminder.

Nothing is more important than health care .. unless it has real medicine attached to it.

This bill now has 31 co sponsors. It is still stuck in the committee that is was assigned to in 2009. These are the people that need to be talked to. These are the congressmen and congresswomen that are currently ignoring the people of the United States:

Please keep letters to elected officials short and to the point. Letters are read by staffers, who then file them based on topic. The pro marijuana go in one file the anti's go in another. The requests for action are assigned to staffer to research and help if they can. Each type of letter usually has a standard form reply, If enough support or resistance is received, the Representative might be informed by their staffers and a position change may occur, unless the representative has a very strong personal opinion on the subject.

If you have several issues to address, send a separate letter on each issue."

Thought this would be helpful on this thread also, as for the letter to said elected officials, I am not sure on what to say or how to say it. Anyone with any experience writing such a letter? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
