Qualification Question

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I have been reading these boards for a while now, but just have never registered or posted until now. I will just jump right into my questions here.

First off I have suffered from severe migraines most of my life and have been prescribed some pills to take at the onset of the migraines, but whenever I have taken them they make me extremely ill feeling to the point I just want to go lay down and fall asleep until everything has passed. Now does having these issues alone allow me to qualify? If not that is understandable.

The main reason I wanted to ask a question is relating to a more recent issue that has arisen with me back in January, roughly 6 months ago. I have been urinating blood and having kidney pains for a while now and on top of that I have also been suffering from what they call "renal colic", which has caused some of the most horrific pain someone can feel. The reason I have been getting it is from the blood that I am urinating has been clotting and I have actually been passing blood clots in my urine from time to time and it basically plugs up the tubes inside of me and causes the pain. Now this doesn't happen constantly I would say it could every few weeks. The pain medication they have given me from Tylenol 3 to Vicodin has made me extremely ill every time I have taken them. I just don't do pain medications very well and I just refuse to take them anymore.

Also I have had a blood disease for most of my life called "ITP", which is a low platelet count. Tied in with this past 6 months I have "alopecia areata" as well. The main thing they have been checking me for with all of these issues going on at once is "Lupus" and another type of kidney problem called "IgA". For the time being the Cleveland Clinic has prescribed me with a medication called "plaquenil" that in itself has made me feel sick to my stomach and has been eliminating my appetite. The choice was between not trying to treat anything at all and just let it go and see what happens, being put on steroids again which is something I don't ever want to be on again that was a horrible experience, or taking "plaquenil". I choose the one I thought would be the best.

That is a basic overview of my current situation and have been curious if I could qualify. I am really seeking something to help ease at least a bit of the pain that I have been experiencing and to also help with the nausea that comes along with these pills that they seem to love to throw at me. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for reading!

I'm no doctor, but i needed pain relief after reading what you are going through! Any doctor like Bix or Crocker would likely certify you with the proper documentation and a visit. I cannot say with certainty, as i do not work for either of them. I just know their level of compassion.

The IgA Nephropathy will cause the kidney pain all by itself, add in all the other stuff you have going on and You must be in a world of hurt. I really feel for you, I have IgA nepropathy myself and ended up on dialysis because of it. One thing to avoid is Ibuprofen type medicines as they really mess up the kidneys and liver. Most of the pain medicines make me throw up too.

Talk to your regular doctors and your specialist about getting a recommendation. Try them before you resort to a MMJ specialist. Your regular doctors can recommend marijuana and just charge you for an office visit or bill your insurance.
