Bouchard?

Recommended Posts

Bouchard has stated that he thinks the MMJ law has too many holes in it and he wants to PLUG them.

He is a 'law and order' candidate and he has the backing of a number of police unions, and we all know where they stand when it comes to MMJ.

And correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Bouchard was either a police chief or a sheriff at one time, and that has to tell you a great deal about the man.

Sorry, but he WON'T be getting my vote.

The will of the people was clear when the ballot initiative passed by as

large of a margin as it did. I support the will of the people to allow

marijuana to be used for medicinal purposes only and the law should be

enforced as such.

Sincerely,

Virg

I believe his is or was an Oakland County Sherif.....I could have this wrong but I do know it was definitely law enforcement.

Come on,I am a Republican and a MMJ PT. Mike Bouchard was Oakland County Sheriff for 6 years. I can't let one issue decide who I will vote for,we have our MMJ legal, but right now I am more concerned about the fact that my hubs lost his job,and the State is in pretty bad shape. I don't think I will even decide untill I am in the voting booth. Hoekstra......something about the guy I don't like. He's not done much for our state in the past. Mike Cox,another I don't know. But whoever it is,they are going to find out that we as voters will hold them accountable. I would say I am more of an independant thinker than Repub or Dem.

Medical marijuana crosses all barriers. Young/old, religious/atheist, right wing/ left wing, capitalist/socialist, republican/democrat, dog lovers/cat lovers, and everything in-between, just to say a few. Very few issues bring together such a diverse crowd. The melting pot we are is a testament to the healing power of this great plant.

Those who have been helped by MMJ do cross all political ideologies. However as NPR has pointed out ballot proposals like banning gay marriage and illegal aliens brings out republicans to vote while the medical marijuana proposals brought out democrats in 2008. From my observations republicans will say small government then support laws that will restrict personal liberties (like gay marriage) and will oppose laws that place protections on consumer rights and freedoms in favor of corporate profits.

Right now I am a single issue voter. I might even vote for a Republican for president if Gary Johnson is a option. He is the only republican I know that recognizes the fallacy of yelling small government but then listing all the things government should restrict in your personal life.
