Companion Gardening ?

So this one will probably rustle some feathers but has anyone grown any edible plants or herbs in with the meds ? I have the space but am worried about the new bugs , etc.. that I might have to deal with. I am fairly anal about cleaning & bugs so I really don't want to deal with anything that will bring new problems but if there is something I can put in there safely I'm down with it.

 

Anybody tried ? Any thoughts ? Could be a long winter. Need to eat too...........

no need for the risk of extra bugs.... tomatoes are available at the grocery store.... your HPS lamps run up your electric bill......

Maybe something like marigolds or tobacco that keep bugs away?

Marigolds, Mums, Basil, Rosemary, Beebalsm-- all work well to keep away pests...

berries work well as companion edibles-- as does anything in "bush" form...

BUT: start ONLY with young, healthy store-bought plants-- and do NOT add them to your grow without 1st dipping them in 3-in-1 or NEEM....and watering their soil with it as well- or fungus gnats & mites will become an issue!
