Recommended Posts

Im buying a intercom system when i install my video cameras and dvr one for each door and a camera for each door including the grow room let them try their congame on camera no warrant no search end of discussion. :thumbsd:

Thing is the younger generation did not have the displeasure of dealing with law enforcement in the 70s and 80s you learn a thing or two about your rights over 47 years.

2 b honest...Cops were way more cool than nowadays by far

Im not getting myself put into a position where im getting raided in the first place.

I tell no one outside people i would die for my legal status and nobody sees my grow in person and i always respect my limits never exceeding my 12 plants allowed by law.

No one ever seen my grow my whole room was hidden I should have had a better carbon filter because someone smelled it.

Seriously though the simple odor of cannabis can no longer be used as probable cause because the mdch allows certain individuals like us to grow medical marijuana my neighbors on both sides know i grow one of them smokes himself and the other is a holy rolling prick who's constantly got his nose up my donkey but i helped care for their minor child when she was going to school with my daughter so the wife keeps him in check out of respect for that.

I think things are slowly getting better.

Good idea about an intercom. I'm doing that. So that way I don't have to answer the door I can just say call my attorney.

I have considered the DVR thing and may do that too. Even the cheap ones are $500+ for a four camera system. Nice thing is they don't record if there is no movement.

The problem is we had rights in the 70s and 80s. Not so much today. Back when we were young you told a cop he could not search your car and you were done. Not so today. They just lie and say they smelled something or the dog alerted even when he didn't. Truth is I think I am smarter today because of the videos I posted. I never considered if you are innocent and tell the complete truth what you say can still make you guilty in court.

Shoot my dogs! Hmmm really? They would get sued, you guys say that so lightly."theyll shoot your dog" you guys must not have dogs.

I agree, as a dog owner I would be mortified if they shot my dog. You know, these raids get conducted under the assumption that everyone has a nuclear bomb in their basement and your dog is a trained killer.

actually i have 2 dogs that i really care about.

ive read countless accounts of police shooting dogs during raids. countless. that is why if you are truly getting prepared to be "raided" then you better have a darn good plan of what you are going to do with your dogs when johnny shows up busting down your door. hide your effing dogs if the cops show up, period.

I get very sensitive when it comes to my dogs. My feelings for them is like that of my kids/bestfriend. They are considered part of the family and if the cops kick my door down and shoot my dogs then they had better shoot me too. I would react the same way if they had shot my son. It is fu**ing war at that point and I WILL NOT hesitate to beat the s**t out of the officer responisible... and then when I get out of prison I will track them down and beat the s**t out of them again. I saw that video that came from norml where they shot the mans dog in the raid and it made me sick to my stomache. I mean seriously...do these officers have no soul? Do none of these guys have family pets? That would be like me setting up in the woods outside their house and shooting their dog in the middle of a family cookout with their children watching. How is this ok for LE to open fire on the family pet when unprovoked?

Use a remote dvr. I set up a friends surveilence for him a few years ago, and when he got popped they took it. So I set mine up in the polebarn rafters, that way they'll never find it or be able to deny the damage and terror tactics they use if a raid was to occur... :sword:

I actually shed tears when I watched the video of the cops killing the dogs. If they kill mine, they better kill me too, as they are my family.

I did a background check on the pig that shot the dog and found a few family members of his and sent them the video so the can see what a piece of s h i t he is...

The videos referenced earlier are the best guides you'll find, and are dead on. I recommend all patients I sign on watch them. The key is to be firm yet non-confrontational. I know, not easy to do when you have guys with guns on your front porch threatening you in any way they can think of to get you to open the door. Bottom line, if they are knocking and asking to enter, it is because they don't already have permission to enter (a warrant) and likely don't have enough information to obtain one! DON'T GIVE THEM PERMISSION OR PROBABLE CAUSE AT THIS POINT!!!

One idea that hasn't been brought up is the power of cell phones in police encounters...not the physical phone or camera/video features, as police can confiscate and/or smash the phone, but for the initial encounter... I recommend setting up a system where, in case of police encounter, you can quickly dial a number that will go straight to voicemail. Then hit the speakerphone button, set your phone down on a nearby table, and voila! Audio from your police encounter is stored remotely. That way when the officers lie and say you consented to a search, there is a clear recording of you saying "I do not consent to any searches." When they claim that they shot your dog when it growled ferociously and lunged at them, it can be heard that your dog is nowhere around.

Just one more tool to ensure that jack boot thugs don't "discourage" you from fully exercising your constitutional rights.

Although it's understandable to want to beat up a dirty cop, it'd be best to remember this site does not advocate violence, regardless how justified it is; if we go after them, we're no better than they are. I know how tempting it'd be, especially when they harm someone we love. I often imagine retaliating, too, but I keep it only in my mind.

Right on Silverblue. We know LEO reads this site and I don't want to give LEO any thing that can be used against us. Even the mention of being pro legalization is being used to question our motives for campaigning for this law in the first place. There are some common truths we all know and those can go unsaid until the timing is right.

I'm on probation so my probation office can search me my house my car if I get one and my computer anytime she wants and I don't care she can search right now or when ever. I'm not a drug dealer and if I ever grow again 12 is the limit and I know the law back and forth and don't plan on ever breaking it.

A great thread. But the first post ends unwisely. Proceed without a lawyer? The court will appoint one for you. Your only out is to hire a private attorney or to represent yourself--same as you would do your own brain surgery, right--by the way, I haved no professional legal credentials. So one of the costs of doing business that has to be built into each ounce you sell has to be that $10,000 savings account, that, when the unthinkable happens and your grow is taken down, you hand to a private attorney for representing you in this matter--every business builds the cost into their product; a purveyor of mm is just more likely to need it, and much sooner than most other businesses.

The one "out" from this is the private axe I grind every chance I get, that every one of us remit $50 per ounce sold, to MMMA, and they use it to keep on retainer private attorneys who serve as co-counsel with the court-appointed counsel to represent members who are raided or otherwise charged. Call it the Michigan Medical Marijuana Legal Defense Fund. These attorneys would be specialists in the Michigan MM law and the cases decided in all the venues across Michigan, to help the "overworked, non MM specialist court-appointed attorney" give the defendant the best representation possible. So much for grinding my axe.

Not said in a sh*tty way, but to point out the lack of wisdom in representing oneself. In the law there's an old saying, "The defendent who represents himself has a fool for a client."

You are correct in saying not to represent yourself in court! That dont work out to well, I once had a fool for a client (me) Im a builder not a lawyer, I got screwed not figurativley. but legaly!

In the same respect it does not take a lawyer who specializes in mm law, I can read and understand the law (except for the gray area's lol) so any lawyer is better than no lawyer, I wouldnt hire a lawyer to build me a garage, and I wont hire a builder to represent me any longer lol.

and i agree that is the cost of doing business, was and always will be, if you are making money on something that may get you in legal trouble you should always have a legal fund! I will keep control over my own fund for now though thank you!

Peace

FTW

Poor doggies :( Knowing my stupid self, I would probably step in front of my dog and get myself shot.

Well, I don't have a dog anymore, but I would still probably be that stupid.

And what about cats? Man, I have known some mean donkey cats. Would a cop blow a mean cat away too, or maybe just punt kick it into a wall?

Depends on whether you have a cat or a CAT (like the one in Tarzan's signature line!) :)
