Blocked Comments Abourt Mm

After reading the article at the below link I attempted to post a positive comment but it was blocked. I received a prompt that read."posting failed for the following reason;you posted to many comments in a short period of time"!?

First off, it was my first attempt at a post for that story and I have never been blocked by any other site for "posting to many comments in a short period of time".

There were only seven or eight posts as it was and about half were negative so its not like positive posts were being piled on I believe its just another way of stymieing free thought and opinion of a free society.

We are NOT free. Censorship is alive and well. Spread the word far and wide about that site wherever you can. The truth cannot be stifled. Maybe someone could tell that site you will no longer visit there and you have informed others not to go there because they are censoring and acting biased. One thing is obvious, the person running it is against us.

Sb :(

not that censorship isn't alive and well. it most certainly is. but in this instance, i don't believe it was. i have received that message in the past, only to be able to make the same post later. i honestly believe there are not people paid to screen posts on mlive before they are allowed to "stick". the whole reason mlive is doing well is because they don't have to staff them like newspapers.

Yeah...agreeing with the 2 previous members. Sites don't work like that. There is no "filtering" for content which you agree with, and disallowing content that you don't. lol, though I do admit that would be a nice trick

Oh, you CAN do that, but it requires a staff or at least someone willing to impose their will before posting and mLive does not seem to do that....

You misunderstood me. There's no way for a system to do it on "the fly". Post can be moderated. But knowing these blogging systems and having posted on mlive before, I knew the post were submitted immediate and could be seen in most cases. There's no moderation queue where staff are approving messages. Again, there's no filtering based on a site owners personal beliefs.....But I'd love to see the code that could make it happen.

I had absolutely no problem posting my comments to this article. Multiple postings from the same author seems to be where the problem lies. I don't think they are censoring our posts, only not allowing one person to do more than one comment post per 24 hr. period. Like we don't have something to say about more than one subject? Peace...j.b.

I would tend to agree with the idea of limiting the number of posts in a period of time, being a fairly normal procedure that many discussion boards implement. Probably the case here.

That being said, isn't this the same site that was moderating PeanutButter's posts, and holding them for approval? I think I saw a few other folks around here that had stated the same thing...
