Detroit Police Rob Suburbanite

Recommended Posts

I need help for my daughter and her boyfriend who were robbed of $1300.00 by the Detroit Narcotics cops. They were pulled over in front of a supposed drug house but no one got out of the car and no one came out of the house to the car.

Tickets were issued for loitering even thou no one got out of the car until the police pulled them out of the car. When searched her money was taken and no receipt was given, when she asked for one the cop said "shut up or I'll make it worse". Scared and not knowing what to do they let it go until she told me, I ain't letting this sheet go!!!

We have been on the phone everyday since Monday and have been given wrong numbers to call and even numbers that are disconnected. My daughter and her boyfriend are willing to take a polygraph test and only ask that the cops do the same.

If someone can offer some advice on where to turn to next or should we go to an outside agency, State Police, FBI, etc

1) It wasn't a "crack house" its a relatives house of her boyfriend and its in decent part of Detroit.

2) It was a Friday they had both been paid and yeah it was stupid to have that much cash on them but so what no reason for COPS to be ROBBERS .

3) We have both cops name male and female.

4) They're victims! Not law breakers for being in Detroit to visit friends.

5) We have contacted all news organization's 2-4-7-CNN and hopefully they'll think its worth while to look into.

I'm not begun to rock the freaking boat in the Eastern district of Detroit.

^^^^sure ....get problem solvers on them, file a lawsuit and I will bet you the city settles with you....but your daughter and her boyfriend are going to have to give a legit answer as to why they were where they were and why she had all that cash on her....its going to be a fight, but F those cops...

that stuff happened to me what I was younger, I got knocked out by gang squad once, for no reason other that I was at a party in detroit and happened to be from the burbs...so you know what I did? Stopped going to detroit!!!!!!!

''shook down for a few grand"

JS, Reminds me of a story I heard once, starts out like this... "One time I went out looking for trouble... and guess what?'

This stuff has been going on forever.

You go into certain parts of ANY big city with a large sum of money and you could come out with nothing.

Somebody, either the cops or the bad guys will stick a pistol in your ear and then it's bye bye to that little piggy bank of yours and big sad tears rolling down those pretty pink cheeks.

It sounds like you've tried to get back the money already. I believe the next step of protocol would be to contact the Mi State Police. She may not have a leg to stand on if she didn't get the officers name. The internal affairs department might be able to help???

Your kidding right ?

Get money back from a undercover cop from Detroit with no proof that they had it to begin with other than their word?

Detroit drug cops do this on a regular basis with no fear of repercussions unfortunately this money is gone and theres absolutely no chance getting it back. :notfair:

My advice is stay out of the hood seriously its a entirely different place than the burbs .

Tickets were issued for loitering... this means you have the officers names, right? Go to their precinct. And ask to speak to their captain. Tell him you want to file a formal complaint and ask for Internal Affairs. The money is probably gone... but IA will investigate them and maybe prevent this from happening to the next kids... Good Luck! And next time they are asked to get out of the car, lock it behind them and leave their belongings inside. It takes balls to stand up to them, but if you are in the right... they will need a search warrant to search the car.

You will never see that money - the only way to handle that type of situation is to call the bluff and dial 911 while they are standing there and have a camera recording if possible - or avoid being in that type of situation.

Yep, DT.

There goes that college fund.

And she wanted so badly to be a brain surgeon.

Good luck explaining to IA why they were in front of a suspected drug house with $1300 cash..

Only 1 thing comes to mind when I think about it. If you lived next to a drug house and saw a car full of suburb kids sittin in front of it, wouldnt you think the same? Or would you totally ignore the fact and remain oblivious!

You might want to have a talk with your daughter about drugs. Was this a suspected crack house?

I take no sides in this, and defend noone.. I don't know the story or the people involved so I give you my unbiased thoughts..

Good luck, but I would stay clear of Detroit with $1300 cash. This could have turned out much worse than just losing money. People in Detroit will kill you for a few hundred bucks, not to mention 1300 of them! Not everyone in Detroit is bad, although I tend to stay clear from sitting in front of a suspected drug house.

100%, Baby.

We live in a 'demanding', 'privileged' society.

Some of us think it through before hand... some of us don't.

Like I said, 'whoops... there went the college fund'.

Ed, 'Right' should be on your side given the circumstances

I certainly hope it is!

Having the 'police' investigating the 'police' is like trying to empty the ocean with a teaspoon.

But I wish you all the luck possible.

Know when to cut your losses though.

Go for it! Glad to hear you/they are noto just taking it.

I am surprised to hear people here saying things about not going to Detroit. Bottom line, you should be able to go where ever you want with your money on you and be safe from robbers, and the thieves without the badges too. If they were not doing anything wrong, they should not have had their money taken and thats the bottom line.

Good luck to everyone involved.

Not the point i was trying to make at all i was just explaining that some areas of detroit you will be robbed and possibly killed back in the 90s i broke down off of grand river and 75 walking to a payphone i got hit from behind with a 2x4 and stabbed 6 times in the side by one of the punks i started defending myself against thank god it was a tiny pen knife less than a inch long or id be dead.

Another time i stopped off fort street to get gas a crackhead walked up to me asking for change and detroit police stopped and ran him off then put me spread eagle on my car and kicked my legs so far apart i felt my groin area pop i let out a whimper he says shut the f up b word im sick of you suburban punks coming here to get your dope (i was heading to the casino) after tearing my car to pieces they let me go .

If your not from the hood you will be treated like a criminal because in their opinion if your from out of town its automatically a drug deal its not right in any way but welcome to Detroit.

I have lived in detroit and I have worked in detroit, unless things have changed, when I was a contractor there, I hired some one to stay with my tools and van, when I did underground business there and carried that kinda cash, I had my 9 to back me up, there are many good places in detroit, and there are many bad, every one should use your common sense when you carry that kinda money anywhere!

I hate a dirty cop! And we're pretty sure the money is gone and not to be returned but if we can shed some unwanted light on these two crooks in uniform then that's what we are going to do.

We like Detroit as strange as that may sound right now its the people who make the city, not the cops or politicians. And we will continue to go downtown when we want to and won't be scared away by intimidation from someone in a uniform.

Also we are not trying to turn this into some kind of crusade against cops as much as we may be butting heads with them over MM. They do serve a needed purpose and we know the vast majority of LEO' are good people doing a very thankless job in today's society.

But I will not stand still and be silent if I know for a fact that while wearing that uniform of law enforcement you acted the same as a thug in the street and desrve the same time in jail they'll get when caught and prosecuted.

A thief is a thief - even if the person comes in a uniform, a bad person is just that.

No reason to bash any LEO - even bad ones, just shine the spot light of truth on them, it has a way of curing things.

LEOs have to see the absolute worst of human nature almost every day, and they expect the worse when dealing with just about anyone so do not live up to their expectations.

There are some great things about the D - bad also - I avoid the bad like I try to avoid bad people and the plague.
