Really depends on the pain and the patient. Most of my patients do very well with G13. Others do better when it's given in a tincture form. The one rule most will agree on is that no two patients respond the same so trail and error is the course of action. Keep trying different ones until you find what works.

Best of luck.

It depends on the level of pain and person I am sure. I grew a small purple Jems plant that works the best for me to kill headaches, arthritis pain in shoulder, Hip pain when I get that. It actually works better than some BlueDream I have which almost knocks me on my donkey LOL The purple Jems is mostly Ruderalis then Sativa and Indica from what I understand. It kills the pain and keeps your head clear. I am a novice smoker so maybe it won't work as well on some one more seasoned :) The Ruderalis plants are said to be higher in the CBD's that supposedly help reduce pain. Just something to look into.

ok so which is witch indica short fat leaves? sativa long skinny leaves?

yes indica has fat leaves sativa has skinny leaves. most of the time. but you have to remember most strains out there are indica sativa hybrids. you can still have a skinny sativa looking plant that has a indica affect. try them all and find what works

Yes, most strains these days are hybrids so I pick the ones with the widest leaves and densest buds. Ask around and I'm sure you'll find some kind people that can help you out with some clones. Check out the "Free Leonard"

I agree re: Free Leonard. Out of the seven strains I grew, Free Leonard is my favorite by far. Really amazing stuff. Short, bushy, very robust, healthy, easy to grow - a real beauty in flower AND it has an amazing effect on both mind and body. It gets me "up" yet leaves me very relaxed and aware.I don't find it overpowering, but I only take 2-3 small hits. It kind of reminds me of some hash we used to get in the early seventies. This stuff should be legal in all 50 states - it's that good.

I have to add something. This is the only strain that produced "euphoria" in me, a trait I was looking for. Until I find something better, I am sticking with this strain as my main meds.

It's hard to say as each person is different. I would suggest getting a quality Indica dominant, as well as a Sativa dominant. A closer to 50/50 split and everything in between is available, but I think it helps to identify the difference between the two.

Do NOT take them at the same time. You want to get acclimated and assess what each one does individually, so you have a better idea of what fits your needs.

After experimenting, I find the strong Indicas are what I need, and of those I am quite partial to any of the Kushes. Your dad might not like the heavy buzz during the day though, so he might save that for bedtime...and instead use something like a 70/30 Sativa dominant to be able to function during the day, but still take off the edge of the pain.

Hope that makes sense. :)

[it WAS a Tree + Very Busy & Ready to Flower-Sorry that you think I should GIVE my Electricity,Time & Nutes Away-I am not a mass grower tryin to get rich-BUT i diserve fair compenstion & honestly HATE to part with it even for that! I doubt the person who got it is disapointed! Pearl's Girls are SWEET!quote name=avgjoe' timestamp='1294536177' post='250976]

For $50 it better be a tree, just another person(s) trying to get to rip people off.Where do people get off charging boo koo bucks for a cutting?

Indicas are your best bet for pain relief.

Sativas are more for the head.

depends on the size of the clones. If these clones are a couple of feet tall, they could be worth a hundred or more.

If they are just starting to root then ten bucks to 25 seems to be going rates.

Now then .. strain.

You have listed two different objectives. Pain killing and knockout.

For pain killing, use your nose. A smell that makes your nose itch will produce pain killing effects. The compound that makes your nose itch is the same compound that gives black pepper it's taste and smell. For this compound, a batch of bud that makes you sneeze should have ample supply of this compound.

For knockout, you want CBN. CBN is known for sedative effects. CBN is produced the the degradation of THC. It turns the crystals in the bud into a amber color. The content of CBN is mostly determined by when the plant was harvested.

So look at the dust on the bud. Is it a tan color? Then look closer with a jewelers magnifying loop. 30x. Look at the heads of the crystals. Are some of them amber in color? Then that batch should provide the sedative effect.

Both of these compounds are THC modifiers.

KUSH. I had back surgery, and I think Kush strains work like a mild pain reliever and mild muscle relaxer. In addition to not taking those types of pills anymore, I also no longer take Cymbalta for mild depression/anxiety. Indica strains, like Kush, work on anxiety, and Sativa strains, like White Widow, work on depression. This is what I found works for me. I have found that most strains and hybrids, that I have tried so far, with the words "kush" or "widow" in the name/genetic background, are great meds, if grown correctly.

Kush (I copied this from Wiki) refers to a subset of strains of cannabis indica. The origins of Kush cannabis are from landrace plants mainly in Afghanistan, but are also from Iran, Pakistan, and Northern India,[1] with the name coming from the Hindu Kush mountain range. "Hindu Kush" strains of cannabis were brought to the United States in the mid-to-late 1970s and continue to be available there to the present day.[2]

Kush strains were among those cultivated by the British firm GW Pharmaceuticals for its legally licensed commercial trial of medicinal cannabis.[3]

"O.G. Kush" is a hybrid strain of cannabis consisting of part sativa and part indica; resulting from the cross pollination of two flowers: Lemon Thai and Afghani.

  • 2 weeks later...

Out of the 4 Indica strains I have going my patients report the Romulan to provide the most pain relief.

I agree with their assessment, but I find the 'couch-lock' effect a bit too heavy for my tastes.

Purple Urkle is good for body pain, and gives a slightly uplifting head high.

Purple Wreck is good for body pain, and has a mellow head high, and has a great smell. :thumbsu:

I switch between Purple Urkle and Purple Wreck for my personal pain management.

Sounds like I need to get some Free Leonard on the menu though...
