I was watching the actual city council meeting last night, and the one lawyer who is suing bloomfield hills was there, and threatened to sue the city of southfield lol they were pretty scared but still voted no on the pot-district. And i think now there is a longer moratorium

Councilman Sidney Lantz, the council's most vocal opponent, said those in need can buy pills for THC, marijuana's active ingredient, through pharmacies.

It "will increase crime, will cost you money, and these people who are pushing it now don't know what they're doing," Lantz said. "This could be the worst thing that could happen to you."

wow... just wow.

The members of southfield city council are literally all jackasses. Im sorry if i offend some of you, but i live here and i watch what they say, and the logic they use is from the 1800's. I seriously want to run for city council just to weed out the dumb asses who are on there

Ok, I am thoroughly confused.

Can someone please show me where the council was going to limit caregiver's to these areas? Can someone please show me the proposal to limit home-grows?

The ACLU believes patients and caregivers should have a right to cultivate marijuana outside of a residential neighborhood. Southfield was willing to step up and create an area for this to take place. This would have no bearing on what a caregiver or a patient does at home. At least, this is my understanding.

What exactly was the opposition?

Am I correct that the opposition came from patients and caregivers? Or was it the prohibitionists?

This is really weird. They were going to end the moratorium, now it continues for another 6 months. Help me out here.

Map of proposed zoning, it would benefit but a handful of property owners, http://marijuanapatients.org/politics/74-city-of-southfield-wants-to-limit-medical-marijuana

I went to your site, and I read this-

"The City of Southfield intends to limit where marijuana can be cultivated. Light Industrial areas are where they want to relegate the “caregivers” and growers. Nowhere within the Michigan Marijuana Act is there any designation that caregivers or growers must grow marijuana in “light industrial areas”. Another City is changing the Act. Another City is trying to restrict Medical Marijuana. Another City needs stopping."

So, was this the case? Was the proposal going to affect someone's right to grow at home?
