Medical Marijuana Law Creates Confusion In Michigan

Recommended Posts

The claim:

Medical Marijuana Law Creates Confusion in Michigan.

According to statements proclaimed by "My Michigan Defense Lawyer.com":

"Current laws, as written, allow someone who is a licensed medical marijuana patient to possess up to 2.5 ounces of usable pot ...."

Isn't it already bad enough, for "We The People" of Michigan, when "The State's Prosecution" and biased mass-media fires slang-term hate-words like "pot," to say the least? But, when even "defense lawyers" are so callously insensitive to the negative forces, and [anti-]social consequences, of such absent-minded (or, just plain carelessly wreclkless) deployment of word-weapons like "pot," rather than "medicinal remedy," well ...

THAT's just plain FRIGHTENING!

Here's what else these "Michigan Criminal Defense Lawyers" are saying:

"Legislators are expected to clear up the laws this upcoming year. It will be none too soon for medical marijuana patients as well as police, judges, and all those who have had any interaction with the confusing jumble of interpretations and applications over the past few years.

In the meantime, however, those who are legally entitled to medical marijuana are suggested to keep a low profile. When the laws are unclear, running afoul of them is far too easy."

Not being rhetorical here but...Is there any type of testing (not the bar exam) attorneys have to take in order to keep the license and or practice in a a particular state. If a practicing attorney cannot understand a law that I and most of the lay community can what chance do their clients have at getting a fair trial with an incompetent attorney.

Lawyers are the only persons in whom ignorance of the law is not punished. - Jeremy Bentham

Pretty bad knowing if you have to go with a court appointed attorney that you're not going to get a fair shake but even with your own lawyer many times you're still having to teach them about the law. Any time a slang word is used for medical marijuana in the courtroom it should be objected to. Slang terms are derogatory and are used to sway the jury in to thinking marijuana is dirty in every way.
