freemannabis
Anything I can do to supply our courageous troops on the front lines. My thanks, to ALL compassionate souls here in Michigan / America and beyond. Here's a frightful excerpt from another story about "The Meeting": *** Among the other options Gillam has recommended are: Let the moratorium expire and treat requests for medical marijuana under the city's current zoning ordinances, which would allow dispensaries on commercial properties along Woodward Avenue, Gillam said. Approve a second reading of a resolution that would ban medical marijuana on the basis that the federal law supersedes state law. The first reading passed in September by a 4-3 vote, Gillam said. “It would be the same thing the City of Livonia has on the books,” Gillam said. Approve or move forward with the recent recommendation from the planning commission, which would allow a caregiver to grow medical marijuana inside the home of a qualified patient, Gillam said. Look for some other kind of alternative. Gillam said the Michigan Municipal League has a list of options other cities in the state have decided in dealing with the use of medical marijuana. The use of medical marijuana was approved by voters on a statewide ballot in November, 2008, including a 73 percent approval from Royal Oak voters. City Commissioner Chuck Semchena said Friday that he would vote in support of two of the five recommendations: extending the medical marijuana moratorium and a second reading to ban medical marijuana. *** If THAT doesn't shake you up, what will? Maybe the rest of the stoy? Here's the link: http://www.hometownlife.com/article/20110123/NEWS20/101230380 FREE The CURE! Clear and Unambiguous
"South Oakland County Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Brett Tillander, who is opposed to having the drug in the city, said he submitted a letter he wrote that was signed by 40 residents. It supports an ordinance called the Livonia model, patterned after that city's ban on medical marijuana, City Commissioner Chuck Semchena said Friday. Semchena supports the ordinance." - from the freep This is so typical. The war on marijuana has made it easier for kids to get marijuana than alcohol or cigarettes, per the government's numbers, yet these idiots keep making the case for prohibition. Furthermore, by claiming to be on side of children, they make it look like we are not. Please, someone take this argument away from them at this meeting. Explain to them that a safe and legal marijuana market for adults takes marijuana off of the black market, and that the black market is the one that supplies children. Tell them it is 2011, the war on marijuana has not made it harder for kids to get it, and that it is time to try a different approach. semicaregiver
Here is what is being reported... Royal Oak City Commission: Medical Marijuana Use Approved, but not Growth The Royal Oak City Commission approved an ordinance early Tuesday allowing the use, but not the cultivation, of medical marijuana. Calling it the “modified Livonia ordinance,” most commission members agreed the action would open the city up for a lawsuit, as most Michigan communities, including Livonia, are facing following the adoption of marijuana ordinances. Users are bringing lawsuits against communities enacting ordinances, saying the rules are in opposition to a 2008 state statute approving the use and cultivation of the plant for medicinal purposes. In November, the ACLU brought a suit against Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills and Livonia over the issue. The alternative to adopting an ordinance would have been to extend the city’s moratorium, which was set to expire in February. In other actions: * The Commission members voted against prohibiting liquor sales on Christmas Day. * The Commission approved the liquor license request of Gemmayze, a Middle-Eastern cuisine restaurant and lounge set to open this spring in the former Small Plates location. * The Commission also approved a dance floor permit for the Bastone/Café Habana/Commune/Vinotecca location on Main Street. The restaurant group was operating with a temporary permit before the approval. http://royaloak.patch.com/articles/royal-oak-city-commission-medical-marijuana-use-approved-but-not-growth
freemannabis
Here's another story about last night's tyrranny in Royal Oak: http://www.dailytribune.com/articles/2011/01/25/news/doc4d3ebc520eef3967836823.txt?viewmode=fullstory Proof positive that NAZI OLIGARCHY rules the people of Michigan / America in Royal Oak. And, to think, children get torn from their families and sent to battle for this. Has anyone EVER seen ANYONE in "Public Office" stand up against war? No! Of course not. Oligarchists, like the nazis ruling on the Royal Oak council, are all for "profitable," poisonous drugs like alcohol; So, why would they be against career-supporting wars?! Peace and freedom - clearly - is not in the best interests of tyranny. Royal Oak: Where the nazi few rule over the ever more and more enslaved many. Yessiree, Home of The FEE; Land of The SLAVE. Frank R
So what Royal Oak is saying is that you can smoke in the Oak, but you gotta grow down in Ferndale, Oak Park, or Hazel Park i.e. the Border Zone cities. The decision is truly a make-work-project for the Commissioners' lawyer friends, as the the Commission acknowledges that their action will surely result in a lawsuit. The decision is truly a make-work-project for the Commissioners' lawyer friends, as the the Commission acknowledges that their action will surely result in a lawsuit. The mentally defective people who showed up trying to convince the commission to NOT ALLOW MEDICAL MARIJUANA in their city, are the same folks who jump up and down at Tea Party Rallies ranting and raving about lower government costs, etc... Do these fools realize that now Royal (Joke) Oak is going to have to PAY several attorneys hundreds of thousands of their taxpayers' dollars to defend Royal (Joke ) Oak from the upcoming lawsuit? Not sure if many of you see the "comedic irony" of the situation. Mizerman p.s. When this happened in Battle Creek a few months ago my wife and I were battling a 4-6 week long cold/flu-like symptoms and didn't want to pass what we had on to any of our friends. But, we were able to watch the entire proceedings on our computer. Also, I have a very funny feeling that when I "signed up" to watch those Battle Creek proceedings that my running commentary on their "podcast" was seen by every commission member who had a laptop open in front of them. Is there a website/link where I can watch last night's proceedings?? Thanks!
