Michigan State Police Confiscate Items

DETROIT -- Michigan State Police said what started out as a burglary investigation has led the recovery of a small arsenal of guns, marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash.Police said a trooper was dispatched last Thursday to a house on Iosco Road in Iosco Township to investigate the burglary of an unoccupied residence that was recently damaged by a fire. Acting on a lead, police said the trooper then went to a house the following day on Lamoreaux Road to interview a suspect.While interviewing the suspect, police said the trooper smelled marijuana.During a search of the house, police said they confiscated five long guns, 97 marijuana plants, 77 pounds of processed marijuana, prescription narcotics and $24,595.00 cash.Police said the investigation continues but warrants are being sought. They did not release further information on any suspects.

I suppose this kind of thing could hurt the MMJ cause. I wouldn't worry about it too much though.

 

Why? Because there's not a darn thing any one of us can do about it. We can't control other people. How do you think this stuff was stored and distributed here before the new law. Don't forget that MJ is still illegal for much of the state and we know what happens when prohibition is the policy.

 

It's too bad we don't have a professional PR group because this would be their job to tackle. Get out some sort of press release or contact the news agencies stating that 'This incident does not seem to be related to the state's medical marijuana initiative.'
