SAGINAW — Gregory J. Tackebury, whose Ford Mustang GT was seized and now is driven by Saginaw County Sheriff William L. Federspiel, is to appear for a probation violation arraignment Thursday.

County Circuit Judge Fred L. Borchard on Monday authorized a bench warrant after Tackebury, 48, did not appear for the arraignment, which was scheduled for Monday.

Tackebury's wife told court officials that Tackebury did not know he was due in court Monday, court records show.

Borchard in February 2010 sentenced Tackebury to two years and six months of probation for possessing with intent to deliver between 5 and 45 kilograms of marijuana.

Tackebury, who last lived at 2224 Madsen in Bridgeport Township, pleaded guilty to the charge and in exchange, prosecutors dropped four other felonies, including two felony firearm charges that would have required Tackebury to spend a mandatory two years in prison. Tackebury also agreed to forfeit $25,000 and his Mustang.

Tackebury has said he agreed to the plea deal “under duress.” Federspiel now drives the Mustang, which has “Taken from a local drug dealer” decals on the doors.

Tackebury is accused of violating his probation by “threatening to kill” a Saginaw Township man and “then himself” and failing to make payments towards a balance he owes for a six-month tether sentence.
