Morels - Anyone Find Any?

Tons all over Livingston county and Lansing. All 3 kinds. Took out a first timer and let him pick his first morel ever then sent him home with a paper sack full.

I'm in Montcalm County, Finding a few the last couple days; a mixed bag of small grays, small white & a couple big whites. We are finding them a couple at a time. Check a tree, find two, check another tree, find a couple more, like that. Nothing extravagent but enough to enjoy with supper the last two nights with some left for tonight. And it looks like we got some rain last night so we're hoping to find more today.

 

Seems like Morels are starting late this year; at least we are late in finding any - usuallly we start finding them in late April, early May. Here it is May 18 and we are just now getting some. Cold Spring I guess.

My friend found about a pound of whites in his backyard, in Detroit near 8 mile!

They were growing under his apple trees.

 

Also saw a guy with a basket full near Oakland University on some public nature trails.

Hate to poach, but I am going there tomorrow to see if I can find some.

Does that make me a shroom ripper?

I was out walking in Livingston County this afternoon and I saw NO MORRELS over a 8 mile walk in heavy woods near Bishop Lake State Park...where is this Livingston County HOT SPOT ?
