TUCSON, Ariz. -- The controversial case involving Jose Guerena led to some controversial comments by the Pima County GOP chair. Those comments have Brian Miller under fire.

Republican Brian Miller is in the hot seat for comments he made after Guerena was shot more than 70 times by SWAT members.

"I think it was inappropriate to go out and make a policy statement on GOP letterhead," said Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik.

The first statement reads, "We are all Jose Guerena." And used harsh rhetoric accusing, 'militarized local police of invading private homes.'

That was just the beginning. As more information on the case came out Miller spoke out more on social media and local talk shows.

All of this has led to growing pressure from party leaders behind the scenes that want Miller to resign.

"It's going to be very difficult for him to be the local leader of the party," said Miller.

Republicans like State Senator Frank Antenori say Miller made a mistake, but most don't want to talk about it on camera.

"I like the man on a personal level but he's overstepped his bounds and I think it's best if he resigns," said Kozachik.

It's not clear if Miller plans to resign. In his last statement he apologized to law enforcement for using the word "murder." But he did not back down for questioning the policies that led to Guerena's death.

"I find it human and excusable, but most wont excuse it. They think it was out of line," said Kozachik.

Hundreds on Facebook have stood up in support of Miller, but its unclear if that will be enough.

The investigation into the death of Jose Guerena is still ongoing And republicans don't want that to be the focus as local elections approach.

"It's a huge distraction. The party has candidates trying to raise money and it's just not productive," said Kozachik.

"Guerena had no prior criminal record, and the police found nothing illegal in his home. After ushering out his wife and son, the police refused to allow paramedics to access Guerena for more than hour, leaving the young father to bleed to death, alone, in his own home."

"Last year, two of Vanessa Guerena's relatives were murdered by armed intruders. The intruders also shot the couple's children."

Finally a Grand Oil Party member that sees the light. This is how they would react though, most of them are in love with the Drug War and the military tactics they use. It is a shame that we are stuck with this two party system that are merely different shades of corporate whores.

The attitude to keep government out of our lives is central to a conservative point of view. To fail to question over the line police intrusion is inconsistent with that. I have family and other acquaintances who are self described conservatives who believe that law enforcement personnel are owed some kind of veneration. They are held in the same esteem by these twisted minds that military personnel are. Wrapping a flag around those who choose to serve in the military is quite different from doing the same with pathological cretins, many of which come from the military ranks and can't put the juvenile GI Joe stuff behind them and live as responsible adults.

The GOP members who criticize this guy for these remarks have obviously not thought through what morality is or why we must behave ethically. The right wing is loaded with contradictions in terms. Among them are the teahadists who hate medicare because it is a program of government origin, and who ride to the rallys on their medicare provided motorized wheelchairs after having taken their blood pressure and sugar levels with medicare provided instruments. It occurs that they simply do not have the native ability to think things through to the nth degree, and are intellectually incapable to learn, be it out of laziness or stupidity.

If Miller stays true to conservative principles, he will stand by his remarks and make the republitards remove him forcibly, in which case they might just call in the cops. They are neither republican, democrat, libertarian, or socialist. They are twisted f...s who seek to satisfy their sick wants with any convenient lie.

The soul of the GOP laid bare! Money is more important than stopping the murderous executions of innocent Americans in our own homes.

The drug war is the slippery slope and they don't care that a few wrong doors get busted down. I am waiting to find out what source they used to get this guy's address. I am willing to bet that it was an informate trying to cover his own arse.

From about the 2:30 mark in video:

"These types of incidents happen all of the time, they just happen to people who typically don't have the platform or voice or the position to get I have to get the word out"

This time they have found a target that has turned out to be their worst nightmare, a former solidier that did nothing wrong. But they did, and there is video and audio to prove it.
