Hr 2306 - Finally A Bill To End Prohibition - Prais The Lord!

Recommended Posts

Dear :

Today Representative Barney Frank, along with a group of supportive Members of Congress, introduced Bill HR 2306, the "Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011." The bill would end marijuana prohibition for adults on a federal level, enabling states to pass their own laws, regulations and taxes regarding marijuana.

This bill would protect the rights of states to enforce their marijuana laws and put an end to federal prosecutors threatening governors and state legislators over the distribution and sale of marijuana. It also allows states to set regulations protecting minors, as marijuana would be regulated and controlled, and remove the criminal element that is so prevalent today, freeing up law enforcers to focus on solving violent crime rather than wasting their time on nonviolent marijuana offenses.

I don't have to tell you how historic and important this bill has the potential to be. But it needs YOUR support to move forward. Please take a moment to write to your representatives and urge them to co-sponsor HR 2306, the "Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011." Please take action now!

Thank you,

Major Neill Franklin (Ret.)

Executive Director

Support Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition

On June 23, 2011, a group of Members of Congress led by Representative Barney Frank introduced the "Ending Federal Prohibition of Marijuana Act of 2011." If passed, this bill would end marijuana prohibition, removing it from federal scheduling under the Controlled Substances Act, and enable states to pass their own laws, regulations and taxes regarding marijuana.

This historic bill would be a huge step in ending drug prohibition, and would put an end to the destructive policy of marijuana prohibition that ties the hands of law enforcers by wasting their time on nonviolent marijuana arrests, preventing them from focusing on solving violent crimes. Please take a moment to write to YOUR representatives and urge them to co-sponsor the "Ending Federal Prohibition of Marijuana Act of 2011."

I <3 Ron Paul. The man actually has common sense.

Here's an LA Times article about it.

Looks like it's going to be DOA. So much hypocrisy in Washington. :growl:

How can anyone in 2011 be this ignorant?

"Marijuana use and distribution is prohibited under federal law because it has a high potential for abuse and does not have an accepted medical use in the U.S.," said [House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar]Smith, who like Paul is a Texas Republican.
