Ac Unit Lets Some Light In?

my window AC unit has a piece of styrofoam inside that devides the unit. im guessing its for insulating for ice buildup? anyways theres a slight amout of white glow i can see. can light penetrate that foam? will this compromise my 12 hr dark cycle? Frustrated!! TY Johnbs8
