Morhawk
Were they feminised seeds? If not, perhaps they are all males. If they are, perhaps they hermied on you. I've read a bit about the Dutch Master's Reverse. http://www.dutchmaster.com.au/?language=english&page=product&product=REVERSE Some say it works and some say it doesn't. Jipo
Dj shorts bb commonly hermies, needs a lot of care. Try not to stress em, bb has a learning curve.

I don't think DJ Short breeds fem seeds
totung
I got a clone about 6 months ago. I have two moms now that I take clones from. The last two grows have shown pollen sacs. Just not sure what to do so I don't stress them since I have been trying to make sure to not do too much to them. Perhaps it is from transplanting? Transplanting is stress, ph changes to the water are stress, temp swings are stress. Lots of things stress but usually don't get considered. The best way to know if your blue berry is legit though is wait for sacs. If you learn her well you'll have something special, a lot of people bail on BB because of the hermie aspects, but a lot of people grow 100% female blueberry, and its something stellar. totung
One the sacs appear though, there is nothing that can be done, correct?
totung
Can anyone recommend some strains that are "beginner" friendly?
Jipo
For the most part if they' full blown pollen sacks forming then yes, if its some nanners (yellow pistils popping out of the bud) This can be worked around with minimal cost. Look into Skunk and Northern Lights lineage for very easy strains. Most breeders northern lights are absolute tanks, Skunk is extremely resilient as is the Critical Mass/Big Bud family. totung
They are indeed banana looking things that are popping out of the top of the buds. I plucked them all out a couple days ago when I noticed them for the first time. I am interested to hear what you have to say about what I can do to work around this at a minimal cost. Just keep a close eye on em, pluck em if you see em and do your best to not stress, over feed, burn, keep ph swings down. Minimal cost is a few seeds, here or there, but its not going to "throw" pollen like a male would. Or it shouldn't.
totung
Two grows ago I plucked them but didn't stay up on them so some of them had tiny unformed seeds. This time around, I will be sure to check them every single day. Thank you very much for the help and info!
totung
Could the pollen sacs have been caused from trimming up the plant just after noticing flowers starting to form? I did that the last two grows, but not on the first one, and the first grow didn't show any pollen sacs.
jayt
Yep. The plant will think it's under attack and go in to survival mode. If you have a strain that's sensitive already that could be what will trigger the male flowers.
totung
I have 6 waiting to go into flower within the next couple weeks. I will make sure to trim them up in small amounts before they go into flower. I also talked to the person I got the original clone of DJ from and they said that it is sensitive to over feeding. I did notice burnt tips on the leaves before I started noticing the nanners. I will take both issues into consideration for this next grow.
