medicinejeff
i think heroin usage is growing like crazy in michigan, or certain cities at least. i used to go to fraser high school and i remember near the end of it people were getting into heroin a lot. and i hear it's been getting worse over the years It has been a MAJOR issue in High Schools, 19-20something's totally consumed by opiates and dying. I spent several years in another fellowship even tried to sponsor a kid like 20 who faced charges for selling heroin that was killing people (other teens) in a Detroit suburb a few years back. Stuff laced with fentynal to increase the rush when they inject. This was easily four or five years ago now. Just so sad to see it still happening and so young too sidney was just 16...another young life lost. The focus and funds are compleately misdirected and I bet half the crew holding elected seat in the house are clueless. Voters who have lost a son or daughter to heroin or whose neighbor, coworker, friend or family member knew or loved one of these dead kids, would NEVER approve of the States current or proposed funding for a continued war on NON-DEADLY Medical POT. Not if and when they hear MORE about WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON: An unethical and fiduciary irresponsible lack if focus and funding to eradicate/treat and recovery from Deadly Opiate addiction. Lay Off the Mellow Medicated and Help those who may die.
smokeythebear
I was told by a lawyer that the doc's are cutting pain med people off after they get them hooked, they are left with street drugs/ heroin.
Friendofphotons
This makes me sick to my stomach. I just searched Google news to see if it would give me any indication as to what is being focused on. I searched for "Michigan marijuana Schuette" About 80 results (0.11 seconds) Then I searched for "Michigan heroin Shuette" Your search - michigan heroin schuette - did not match any documents. Instead of addressing a deadly epidemic, Bill Schuette is on duty, and actively harassing legal medical marijuana patients in front of news cameras while children die from heroin. If this isn't dereliction of duty, I'm a unicorn. http://definitions.uslegal.com/d/dereliction-of-duty/
Michael Komorn
I was at lunch with a judge who told me that there were 7 students this past year who attended High School in Livingston County who died of heroin overdoses. The number of overdose deaths from Marijuana this past year-0. lets check the history of human kind, that figure is ZERO-0. Good to know that our priorities are in order? +EdwardGlen
Ask Judge Linda Davis of Macomb County how bad the heroin problem is she'll tell you.
Kingdiamond
I was told by a lawyer that the doc's are cutting pain med people off after they get them hooked, they are left with street drugs/ heroin. I recently kicked a 4 year addiction to hydracodone i was taking 2 850s daily for that period of time i finally decided no more ill go straight natural with medical marijuana. I had heard of a drug that helps with the discomforts of withdrawls from the opiates so i asked my doctor to prescribe it for me my doctor said if i wanted this i would have to go to a Detox center or check myself into rehab I promptly told her your fired then i walked into the clinics supervisors office and filed a complaint for lack of care my take is shes mad cause i chose a natural remedy over the poison doctors prescribe to receive kickbacks via big pharm to get us all hooked on so now i was no longer her customer so i was of no use anymore. Kevin
Since we don't cultivate poppies in Michigan, the heroin has to be coming in some way. You can't get a toothpick on a commercial jet anymore so how do they bring massive quantities of heroin into the country? Doesn't take a lot of research to find the answer. News stations need to be called out on the lack of coverage. if this isn't a "Human Interest" story and an "Epidemic in the schools, could your child be next"? Kind of story What praytell is the matter here? Good information to arm yourself with when passing around petitions to recall him.

Luckily I have my safe meds to deal with my PTSD. The people fighting against our law are some evil folks.

It is sad how people are treating cannabis which can be the key for some to be able to get off opiates or maintenence barring true need . It is so terrible to be on opiates but some people have worse cards dealt to them and the comfort they bring offset the side effects .
