Because Michigan is a manufacturing state and depends on jobs brought in by these large corporations. Look at GM. They are just as bad. They have polluted countless square miles of land in Michigan and aren't on the hook to clean it up. We're left with it. That's the suto industry's legacy in Michigan. People always have been and always will be too scared to force big business to mind their manners because in a capitalist society the big business will just up and move. The ultimate question becomes do you want to remain in a capitlist society or are the people fed up.

How naive you are. Yes, they are on the hook for SOME sites but others they walked away from free and clear after the bankruptcy. Michigan has been used and abused for more than 100 years because people wanted the manufacturing here. They took tax breaks and they left waste. And now they are a mere shell of what they were.

We, the people of Michigan and other states are just now beginning to, hopefully, understand that our 'governments' are, and ALWAYS have been in the pockets of 'big money' and 'big business'.

 

And it has all been carried out under the propaganda that it was all being done for our OWN GOOD.

 

And it has now reached the point where international corporations have as much say in what our politicians do as the American people have.

 

The 'international monetary flow' is now so intertangled that NO ONE truly knows who owns what and who should be taking blame for the recent economic crash.

 

And the 'game' goes on.
