OK .. I believe effective 1/1/2012 there may be hard core police action in Michigan and the rest of the US.

 

The US military has been authorized to round up "terrorists" and detain them .. forever.

 

Anyone posting comments about violent action against the government, might be trying to locate those that would agree. THAT LIST.

 

Some of these kind of comments may be an attempt to form the lists.

 

These lists would be the people rounded up for the camps.

 

What you type could get you killed.

There is better coverage of this in other countries' news. Germany, Russia, ect. Not much to find in US media...Gee, that's not fishy at all.

 

 

News is beginning to spread its way through the media that American’s rights are under attack, and that the nation famous for fast food and football is now a declarable ‘battlefield’.

 

If you paid attention to any of the Black Friday events, you might think that battlefield is a fairly accurate assessment. But is the media blowing this story out of proportion or just trying to keep the government honest?

 

The United States Senate defeated an amendment, 61-37, which ALLOWS suspected Al Qaeda terrorists captured in the U.S. to be held in military, not civilian, custody. Essentially, it makes the National Guard part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

 

Opponents believe it puts the United States in a de facto war zone and is treating any and all of its citizens like the North Koreans in Homefront.

 

But how accurate is that?

 

According to Senator Lindsey Graham, one of only three U.S. Senators currently serving in the Guard or Reserves, (he’s a colonel and a Senior Instructor at the Air Force JAG School), it’s imperative that members of Al-Quada be treated as terrorists no matter where they are:

 

“Our military should be involved in tracking al Qaeda members down here and abroad, and the idea that if they get here all of a sudden they’re a criminal organization, not a military threat, is absurd.”

 

But could the law be abused and broadened from members of al Quaeda to everyday Americans? Could all of this be part of a growing trend to whittle away Americans’ rights until we start asking for death before taxes?

 

Gamers recently had to deal with the news that Blizzard might be working side by side with the feds/big brother to turn WoW players over to the cops. But as mentioned by one of the commenters on our site:

 

“As someone that has worked on several MMO’s and has heard some of the conversations that have transpired…you’d be glad to know the police are there to intervene.”

 

But is there a hidden agenda behind the legislation? After all, the lawmakers are being brutally honest about what the bill would provide the military. It would make “America…part of the battlefield.”

 

Something that the Russian Times (the perfect authority to declare an opinion on American Matters…) said would be “raping constitutional freedoms from Americans…lawmakers could conjure the text to keep even regular citizens detained indefinitely by their own military.”

 

The ACLU didn’t miss their cue and expressed their dissatisfaction as well:

 

The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself.

 

This is probably a bad time to mention that the Executive Branch can already do much of that by declaring Martial Law, where the constitution can be suspended and the executive branch can do almost anything they want…albeit for a temporary period of time and in extreme cases (though no more extreme than what opponents to the bill are supposing).

 

President Obama has threatened to veto the bill, a ballsy move that might not hold up for the President with the worst job approval rating (43%) of any US President at this point of his tenure in modern political history.

 

Opponents further add:

 

 

…(it) essentially repeals the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by authorizing the US military to perform law enforcement functions on American soil.”

 

The Posse Comitatus Act, which sounds like the name of an underground, indie band from Portland, is conveniently enough one of the most mis-understood Federal Laws in American History.

 

The Posse Comitatus Act dates back to 1878 when the threat of foreign armies, not “terrorists” succombed much of the nation. It limits the powers of the Federal Government to use the military as an instrument of power, but it doesn’t prevent them.

 

So with the amendment being passed, and well on its way to President Obama’s desk, the resistance to deny this bill will probably only grow. If you are an ardent believer in your personal freedoms and are a deist to the constitution that was written in quill pen, you can join the fight with the ACLU here.

 

We’re undoubtedly sure to hear more on this issue as it grows deeper into the mainstream, but the central issue revolves around how much faith we put in our Federal Government, more importantly, our law enforcement? With the Patriot Act already in place and our identity and credit cards stored on roughly half the sites on the internet, how much freedom and PRIVACY do Americans realistically have left? With millennials going nutso on social media, is it hypocritical to try and protect our privacy while we willingly broadcast our identities into the free world?

 

Should we focus on maintaing our last slivers of freedom and avoid the battlefield or focus on the people we’ve elected to fight for us, who are dictating what to do with the enormous amount of data we’ve voluntarily granted them?

I will temper my scepticism with : if Obama happened to sign that Bill before they go for Christmas, I would be a little concerned.

 

Last year he gave the 1% their Tax deductions, plus we were stuck with Bushs Appointee to the DEA after his confirmation Dec 23, 2010.

Plus he promised to start off in Jan 2011 with his jobs plan.

Well .. think I figured out why. A lot of things clicked into place for me.

 

We don't have to worry about the government any more.

 

The EPA stopped reporting about the radiation from Japan back in May or so. At first they were posting locations where radiation was being found in the US, then went dark.

 

FEMA camps activation .. fed raids asking for lists of food hoarders (Mormans) .. the defense bill authorizing military force inside the US ..

 

Frankly, the cannabis consumer might be the only survivors.

 

Try it .. try to look up the latest report on the radiation flow from Japan. I bet it's real hard to find.

• Four NRC Commissioners attempted to delay and otherwise impede the creation of the NRC Near-Term Task Force on Fukushima;
• Four NRC Commissioners conspired, with each other and with senior NRC staff, to delay the release of and alter the NRC Near-Term Task Force report on Fukushima;
• The other NRC Commissioners attempted to slow down or otherwise impede the adoption of the safety recommendations made by the NRC Near-Term Task Force on Fukushima;
• NRC Chairman Greg Jaczko kept the other four NRC Commissioners fully informed regarding the Japanese emergency, despite claims to the contrary made by these Commissioners; and
• The consideration of the Fukushima safety upgrades is not the only safety-related issue that the other NRC Commissioners have opposed.
