Michigan Republican Presidential Primary

Recommended Posts

Considering the Obama Administration's 180 on medical marijuana, all republican candidates except Dr. Ron Paul are against medical marijuana... over 100,000 votes for Dr. Paul and upsetting Mitt Romney (who is against MMJ) would speak volumes. February 28th is Michigan's Republican Primary, and you have to register to vote 30 days prior at the latest in order to vote. Even though every GOP candidate cries "state's rights" all day long, they will not support states' legislature on medical marijuana programs. What say yee?

I guess where we see things differently is that I put MMJ low on the list things that a president needs to take care of in this country. there are so many more imoprtant things going on in this country. unemployment, the deficit, this stupid health care thing. Medical marijuana is way below these things IMHO. Ron Paul forigen policies are a joke, he would let anyone that wants nukes make them. isreal will get nuked and we will end up in WWIII

there is more going on than medical pot, I guess I just do not understand why someone would solely base thier vote on legal pot

he is only un electable if people dont vote for him.

look hes not perfect, none of them are, and his competition is a dire Bushman, a Crazy OverZelous Christian ignornant complain, a young good intention miss informed fool, and a guy that would sell his own motther into prostitution and slavery if it ment a few bucks in is pocket.....

So he is a Solar system ahead of the rest of the pack where smart leadership for our country is concerned.

and RP is the only real competition Obama would see out of the options presented. Id still Vote for RP because he is a strict conservative with a major constitutional understanding... plus hes very intelligent, and did better than C++ in high school

It is not just medical cannabis, it is the thought pattern that gets one to agree with medical cannabis. Cannabis prohibition was started to attack a class of people, not because of its dangers. The war on cannabis continues to be a war on liberty and the poor and has turned into a huge profit center causing a mass imprisonment of American citizens. We have 5% of the worlds population and about 25% of the world's prison population, which the majority are there for drug offenses(80%).

Ron Paul wishes to overthrow the move to tyranny and enslavement and return the U.S. to its glory years of liberty and prosperity.

Ron Paul is not week on foreign policy like the fear mongers and propagandist would lead you to believe. He does not believe in killing our kids and mass populations for a crime that might happen. Mass death should not be for possible future crimes, but for actual acts of war. Should we kill hundreds of thousands of people because of something we suspect? Intelligence is frequently wrong, Iraq is a prime example with the huge stock pile of weapon of mass destruction that did not exist. Is life of so little value that it can be spent on rumors and crimes that could happen?

Ron Paul's biggest problem is his honesty. He does not twist things into a 5 word rally call to please the masses. He does not participate in the mass propaganda program to keep the people appeased. He is open and honest, which does not work well for the catch phrase loving masses.

As important as the mmj issue is to me I totally agree with you. His foreign policy would be a disaster (he's to the left of Obama, and does anyone think Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism, wouldn't give a nuke to some terrorist group?) and 50 different state laws as to what constitutes marriage would be unworkable. Much of what Ron Paul says is good, and it's about time someone took our constitution seriously, but I can't get past these things, and other things he's said. What I can't understand is why candidates who believe so strongly in the 10th Amendment don't apply it to mmj. True conservatives would. The people have spoken loudly on this issue. Perhaps they believe the Reefer Madness crap. Yes, the next election is far, far bigger than mmj.

And Timmahh, RP isn't a strict conservative. He's a libertarian. There's a difference between the two. This country could use more of that, as opposed to the road to socialism we've been on for far too long, under both parties. But imho, libertarianism goes too far. And too many Republicans don't go far enough.
