Medical Marijuana Debate Kicks Off Feb. 16

 

Before the CCW debate restarts, however, Walsh said his panel would begin hearings on medical marijuana clarification bills on Feb. 16. Reps. Ken HORN (R-Frankenmuth) and Phil CAVANAGH (D-Redford Twp.) have been leading a workgroup on the issue and their findings on certain aspects of a cleanup law are ready to go.

 

The toughest subject so far, Walsh said, has been distribution. He cautioned that aspect of the package may not be ready by the first hearing.

Everybody make plans to be in Lansing on the 16th. I'm going to try to get them to hold the hearings in a large venue so that all of you can attend. if they chose to do otherwise, we will make alternate plans. thanks, Bb

I can haul 3 people in my car. 4 if we're friendly! Livingston County, Howell area. I WILL be there!!! Neither. Rain, Sleet Snow nor dark of night will keep me from being there!! PM me for a ride folks! If its snowy, we will take my wifes truck and I can haul 5-6 people. Medcnman.

What can I do guys?

Lots! Call your reps and tell them to leave the law alone. Implement it as it is written. Be in Lansing on the 16th. Fight the fight they have brought against us. We only have a couple weeks left to put pressure on our Legislators. They have never implemented the law as it was written. They have no right to change OUR law!! Write. Call. Hound your reps!! Tell them if they have any inclination to change anything in OUR law, we will have no inclination to help them continue their tyranneous carreers. Their jobs are in our hands!! Medcnman.

Here's a letter I'm sending to Rep Walsh in mail and email, should I put specifically the hearings on the 16th?

 

Dear Sir,

 

I appreciate your taking the timeto talk on Planet Green Trees last Thursday the 2nd. You seemed genuinely interested in hearingwhat the patients and caregivers had to say about the pending bills that wouldaffect the Michigan Medical Marihuana Act. I was heartened to hear you stress that they are only bills and could bechanged.

 

I was, however, disappointed thatthere was not more time for calls from patients. I hope to be able to attend the Hearing on medical marijuana clarification bills and voice my concerns about the bills. I hope that ample space and time will be provided for the patients andthe Michigan Medical Marihuana Association to speak, as well as handicappedaccess for those of us with disabilities. I look forward to attending.

I see a couple words that need spaces between them, but other than that it sounds great! Thank you for taking a moment to help us defend our law! Medcnman.

Thanks Medcnman - those spacing errors happen when I copy paste from my Word doc to here - don't know how to stop it, but it looks okay in Word.

I thought that may have been the issue. I see that in Mr. Kormons posts alot too. Send it off my friend! And then do a follow up call to make sure they know your not backing down. They are hearing us my friend! Keep up the good work! Medcnman.
