Marijuana Cafe?

Hello, id like to know if its legal to open a Marijuana cafe?? I do not want to sell marijuana there but i would like to open a place where fellow patients can meet,mingle,smoke,and have a good time. I do not want to sell alcohol there just food and drink. Is this legal?? I would only allow MMM patients to enter and there ID's would be checked b4 entry.

Great idea! first let me say i would attend... but i don't think it would be allowed with the "no smoking in public buildings law." I don't have any facts on this, but i think if you pass the smoking marijuana as a religious ritual, you might be able to get away with it... idk tho... i would attend if your allowed to open one... so lets hope you can!

in actuality, the No Smoking ban is detailed as Specific to Tobacco products. Considering Cannabis is NOT Tobacco, the Smoking Ban can not be utilized in a situation of cannabis utilization.

 

with that said. the Fed and State are still hard on the Zero Tolerance to a brick and mortar medical cannabis facility of any nature.

 

but this would be the exact POT BAR Sen Rick Jones references in his personal daily affirmation of himself and his ill positions.

here's the thing with the no smoking BS,i have a friend that owns a business he smokes in there and lets customers smoke,he says the po-po wont do anything because there is no funding for this.

I use to love going to the grilled cheese tomato soup private partys getting to meet up with other patients and caregivers at a private party was a lot of fun but the attorney general doesnt want any more clubs or get together places to even exist so its best to find a safe location get a few friends together and be safe.

i also have even their it was a great time it's sad that it's over i saw the light ran it so good i met lots of good people their that supported us back then and now most people are only for them self if we all stick together thing will be a lot better

bottom line, any brick and mortar that has direct cannabis connection involved is a big red target for local, state and federal agencies. Why one would want to stick a finger in the eye of the raging bull is beyond me.

You can also get around the "public" by requiring membership to enter. If you are required to be a member of a place to get in, it isn't a public place, like a country club that requires membership, it is not considered public.

local ordinances and memoriams can prohibit this. "A compassion club is a organization a person joins to use or acquire marijuana"

 

So it depends where you want to do this. Then, like others said - there are compassion clubs that are non-profit that do just that.

MartinP..My peeps have been going over this same idea. But with the new / pending legislation on the horizon, you are better off sitting still. Great idea (same as ours...lol), Maybe we can get together sometime and figure this out.

I have an idea that may work, but like I said just put it on paper and wait until the dust settles with the new laws.

I don't really see the problem with a private smoking club limited to card holding members. So long as no selling-donations-whatever on site this should be fine. Free exchanges between patients should also be allowed according to a recent circuit court decision. A pool table and spa with a massage table would be all the better.

 

BB is right there are bills to prevent this sort of thing because currently under the law they seem to be allowed. (not legal advice, just my opinion).

This sounds recreational "patients can meet,mingle,smoke,and have a good time" not what I'm looking for from medical marijuana. Don't need a place to go to medicate and to feel comrodery , I need to medicate so that it is easier to go some place "meet,mingle, smoke, and have a good time".

I would put the plan on hold until somethings gets clarified. At this point it would be placing yourself and patients at risk.

But from another angle it could become a tactic if you get my drift ( what goes around comes around )
