Purple Bud

Recommended Posts

Its all depends on the strain and mainly on the Enviornment... the conditions have to be correct to break down the chlorophyll around harvest time and the strain has to be able to produce anthocyanin pigments..

some strains are

GDP (grand daddy Purple)

Purple Orangutan

Purple Power

Purple Kush

Grape Ape day before harvest still under HPS.

Grape Ape day of harvest before the trim.

The purple comes in at the end, not the whole way thru flower, but even if you dont get purple, its still tasty, dank, nugs that will put you back in bed.

Another one that I have seen turn purple while in early flower is Grand Daddy Purple.

Goldberry (Columbian Gold x DJ Shorts Blueberry) is another one, if you get the right pheno, that will turn purple from budset.

Thats the hardest part is finding the phenos. Mines black/purple right at budset. Took alot of cracking and crossing to pull that out. The buds shown where harvested at 47 days in bloom. Longer she goes the kruztier she gets. Love yer pic's by the way. great bud porn :thumbsu: Kruzty

Rob,

You should be able to find a purple plant in those seeds I traded you.

The mother was a pure "Purple"God Bud. Only purple colored bud is produced, no matter what the temps are.

She was bred with a white widow male, but you should be able to find a purple female in those beans.

Good luck.

Ran a pheno of the Purp which is in the cross of mpl#4 that was purple too but a lot lighter shaped and almost pink in color. grape flavor was over whelming. grape flavor carried with this pheno but with a hit of my N/Ltlb skunk flavor which is also in the mix.

Hey Brains,

How does that Mendo purple effect you?

I am looking for a Sativa domlnant, purple colored plant.

There is purple "Killing Fields", but 11-12 weeks flowering is way too long.

Any suggestions ?

Sorry Robman, I didn't mean to jack your thread.

hey ilb....

it is a approximant 60/40 sativa dominate strain...i use it as a after lunch type medicine if i have strawberry cough available for morning. if the cough is out of rotation which she has been as of late...then i use this as my next favorite....

the mendicino has a euphoric, nice uplifting medical affect which effects my mood by giving me a short burst of energy, but then i tend to tire around 3-5 hours afterwards...so unless i re-medicate i will want a nap usually around the 4 hour mark...

for that reason i prefer the medicino purple for mid afternoon medication as i draw into evening, i am nice and wound down but not couch locked.....and not yet quite ready or looking for a indica dominate med to put me to sleep....

i love the smell, taste and color of this purp... she is nothing short of spectacular.

yield is what i would call slightly less than maximum, but probably average for a medical producer. shes not a big yeild plant, but definantly makes up for it in taste, color, smell and smoothness.

she runs in flower in my room right at 8 weeks... and finishes with purple trychomes as well as amber, milky and clear.

shes purple from the second week of flower as the buds start to grow they come in purple and stay that way through the entire cycle....

great plant

awesome value, and i will keep this strain in my garden for the foreseeable future.

The Purps Weed Seeds – Marijuana Strains

Type: 60/40 Sativa/Indica Height Indoors: Short/Medium Origin: Mendo Purps IBL (Inbred Line) Height Outdoors: Medium/Tall Breeder: BC Bud Flowering period: 8-9 Weeks Auto flowering seeds available: No Harvest outdoor: October Feminized seeds available: No THC Level: High Grow Indoors: Yes Stoned or High: High Grow Outdoors: Yes Grow Difficulty: Moderate Yield: Low 350gm (12.3oz) per M2 Awards won: High Times Cup 2007 (3rd), 2009 (3rd) the-purps-weed-seeds-HowToGrowMarijuana-com-225x300.jpgOriginally ‘The Purps’ marijuana seed strain was available as a clone only among the medical marijuana community of the Mendocino Valley of Northern California. The Purps cannabis soon gained local notoriety as some kick-donkey quality weed. The strain was bred out and stabilised by BC Bud who were the first to make The Purps cannabis seeds commercially available.

The Purps marijuana has the density and lushness of an Indica although she can grow to quite a size. She will stretch much more outdoors, where she will thrive happily. The Purps marijuana has been successfully cultivated outdoors as far north as British Columbia and so should be able to adapt to most climates.

The Purps weed has a beautiful purple colouring, becoming more defined towards the end of the flowering period, and from where she gets her name. She’s a reasonably robust and hardy plant and will respond to Sea Of Green techniques, although her lateral branching can be encouraged by super cropping to become more productive. Kolas can be quite hefty and come with a clean and spicy bouquet. The hit is clear and soaring; a euphoric high that is intense and thought provoking.

I been looking at several strains that will provide me a purple plant. Oddly I am tired of seeing green, just want a bit of color in the grow room. Definitely watching this thread with interest. So far I have not settled on anything due to indecisions. I found one I really liked, and lost the darn web page.
