Am I the only one who can just read the statements that were made by BB and know an audit is unnecessary because of the over exaggerated numbers? Tens of thousands of dollars in tee shirt sales? Really?

 

I spoke with the girl BB claims Michael owed money to and she said that it is untrue and she is sad to see how this is affecting the community.

Even if the story doesn't seem credible to those in the know, it couldn't hurt... you know how much damage rumors can do. Think of the illegal days, before 2008... if someone said someone was a snitch with no basis that person was out, regardless of whether it was fair or reasonable, paranoia dominates... I just don't see how it could hurt to prove that everything's being run properly, it would extinguish the rumors forever.

Sadly the problem is not just here in the MMMA. In my involvement with other activist groups it has become clear that we as a group lack the ability to keep our power struggles civil. We are completely splintered and with each splinter comes yet another organization attempting to be the voice of marijuana reform. Where is our uniting force? Our Gandhi? The cannabis deniers are together on their message while we continue with our infighting. To quote Pogo, "We have met the enemy and he is us."

This community has some disagreements and some strategic and philosophical differences, but it is not badly divided or as disfunctional, as some are suggesting. We have room for improvement, but comparatively to where we were, and to other State's marijuana reform movements, we are doing quite well. One of the main issues is communication. Hopefully, with some of the divisive elements no longer interfering with other individuals and groups within the community, we can accomplish more, faster. There is enough of a foundation for us to build on and to work together with.

 

I just want to clarify something about Michael's post, concerning the email from Joe at the end-

I do support the MMMA and look forward to the positive results of this transition, but Rick and I have never had any input on decision making, nor have we ever had any discussions or intentions to formerly be involved with the MMMA. This is a complete fabrication. I have received a few phone calls and emails from people assuming it was true, and I just want to clear that up. I will help out any way I can because I believe that this is a real opportunity for us, but there is no truth to the rumor.

If being ran as a not for profit who is the 3 board members and what checks and balances are in place so we know what funds the mmma does bring in is not under the control of 1 person and just ripped off?

If that happens, then it is a pretty good indication that the person who is in control of the Board is surpressing free speech -- Trying to surpress free speech is NEVER a good sign....

I suspect we will all be out of the loop on this situation until such time.

 

in the Meantime, maybe we can all agree to let this be handled by the parties involved in the way it must be handled.

We have plenty of important state matters to attend to, and they wont wait, why we are here waiting for these answers.

100% right -- like I noted previous post this could not happen at a worst time as ALL our energy needs to go to defeating the HBills.

 

We need to fight the Bills from passing the full House (they need supermajority) so Dems can help, and then on to the same thing in the Senate ---- and finally ask Gov. Snyder to veto them !

Finally, 1000 of us need to band together and sue to stop it if it gets that far ---

 

THE most critical issue is OUR Privacy. The Confidentiality of the registry list must be maintained --- without confidentiality and LEO having free access to the List (which they do NOT have now) we are all targets that have

registry cards. This cannot happen. I would NEVER would have went under Sect. 4, and got the Registry Card if I thought the list would ever go open to LEO.

 

So yes, your 100% right and We need to focus on the Bills being defeated and stopping a supermajority (I am analyzing what votes are needed tommorow, will post).
