Lumatek Lk1000ac Review

I just wanted to post my initial review on this Lumatek 1000 air cooled ballast. I recently purchased this. It is very sleek. Great design. Wall mounting is easy. I really felt that since it was air cooled it would run smoother and longer than the original design.

I own this one also. It basically is the same design. Heavier, longer, and the ribs on the case are fatter.

 

 

The conclusion:

 

The LK1000AC runs considerably hotter than the original. I'm not sure why. I will continue to work on this issue with the Hydro shop and Lumatek.

 

 

But running 600 watts bulb with Air cooled is very hot to the touch

 

vs.

 

1000 watts bulb with the original case without a fan. Much cooler.

 

 

I will update as more information comes in.
