Save The Date: Snyder Recall Kick-off Rally Next Saturday, May 5, 2012

Recommended Posts

Next Saturday, May 5, 2012 is the kickoff of the second attempt to recall Rick Snyder. It will start with a huge rally at the state Capitol building and you won’t want to miss it. The event starts at 2:00 and thousands of people are expected to attend.

In fact, it’s essential that thousands of people DO attend. The huge rallies in Wisconsin galvanized the activists and volunteers there and we need to do the same here as we fight back against a conservative/corporate takeover of Michigan.

Please plan to attend and help spread the word throughout all of your networks.

Speakers include:

  • John Nichols from The Nation magazine
  • Tony Trupiano from the First Shift radio show
  • Bruce Fealk from Michigan Rising
  • Les Little from Hood Research
  • Pat Selby, Director Project Vote Michigan
  • Zachary Steve, President Young Dems of Michigan
  • Stephanie Terpening, musician
  • Mariah Schafsnitz & Paul Barton
  • Sarah Lawrence, Poet and Activist
  • Mark Boyd (Not Exactly Rick Snyder)
  • Rev. Charles Williams, National Action Network
  • Chris Savage from Eclectablog (me)

Here’s the flyer for the event. Click on it for a full-size version.

Be careful, they are hard core democrats and may not be sympathetic to our cause at all. I would contact a few of the above named and find out if they will support us. Most of their efforts are focused against the union conservatives.

Uhm

As you may know, our rally in Lansing happens on Saturday May 5. As a courtesy to those who cannot make it in person we will be live streaming the event directly to our website.

So if for some reason you are unable to attend but would like to watch the action, please go to michiganrising.org between 2pm and 5pm. While you're watching, please donate a few dollars to offset the cost of the live stream.

A big thank you to all of those who signed up to help at the event. For those who would still like to help setting up, gathering signatures etc. please go to the Form on the Event Page on the site. The 1-855-So-Fired phone number will also be in ordertomorrow if you need to call for info.

If you are planning on attending please note that this is most assuredly a non-violent action and is intended to gather support for the cause, gather signatures and network with individuals and groups from across the state. Also, you can find a parking map for
