Sativex Is Challenged By New Cannabis Pill Idrasil

Recommended Posts

Idrasil, a full-spectrum cannabinoid pill, satisfies the medical community with its standardized 25 mg tablet and changes the way patients and physicians view medical marijuana.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 19, 2012

Doobons.com and Idrasil are discovering that the groundbreaking new medical marijuana pill, Idrasil, is in high demand by patients all over the world who are looking for the benefits of cannabinoid therapy without the negative social stigma or smoke inhalation.

"As soon as the Doobons-Idrasil partnership was announced, I was constantly fielding phone calls from all over the US, Canada as well as the UK, Australia, Germany and Israel" said John from Doobons.com. "It is clear that this is a revolutionary medication that people not only want, but need."

Idrasil is unique because it features two revolutionary breakthroughs in the field of medical cannabis - extraction and consistency. Until now, only two forms of smokeless medical marijuana containing chemicals actually found in the marijuana plant have been on the market, Sativex and Marinol.

However, Sativex, an oral spray manufactured by GW Pharmaceuticals and approved in many countries for the treatment of MS symptoms, contains only two cannabinoids. And Marinol, another pill form of medical cannabis, only contains a synthetic form of one cannabinoid, Delta-9 THC.

Unlike Marinol and Sativex, Idrasil is an all-natural cannabis plant extract containing the full spectrum of naturally occurring cannabinoids (phytocannabinoids), with a 1:1:1 ratio of CBD, CBN and THC. Idrasil also differs from inhalable medical marijuana by allowing the caregiver to provide a consistent formula and measurable dosage each and every time.

"A regulated dose is far better than traditional medical marijuana due to the fact that smoked or ingested cannabis is unreliable. Now with Idrasil, an exact measured dosage is easily achieved and also trackable by physicians."

Sheldon Powers, MD

Idrasil is currently only available in California with a doctor's recommendation (click here for a list of doctors who make Idrasil recommendations). Since it is only manufactured in California, it cannot be sent across state lines.

"It's hard to tell people contacting me, that Idrasil isn't available in their country or state. The fact that Idrasil is only available in California is heart wrenching," said John, founder of Doobons. "I'm a strong believer in the medicinal value of cannabis and think Idrasil can lead the way we start breaking down barriers and give people the care they need."

A product of C3 Patients Association, Idrasil can be used to treat a variety of ailments and conditions such as AIDS and wasting syndrome, cancer, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, Alzheimer's disease, glaucoma, chronic pain, MS, Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders, anxiety and depression. It can also be useful for treating chemical dependency and withdrawal symptoms.

"We've been in Research and Development since February 2010. In June of that year, we began our market research at The California Hospice and Palliative Care Association Conference," said Joanie, Patients Services Representative (PSR) of C3 Patients Association.

For those who have been fortunate enough to try Idrasil, the benefits are clear.

"I have lung cancer and a brain tumor. I have found results in other cannabis products, but when I tried Idrasil, my handwriting, appetite and energy level all improved within a 24 hour period." one patient stated to John.

So, is this available through the standard pharmacy like Rite-Aid, Walgreen's, etc...out in California? Covered by insurance? Or, just for sale at certain dispensaries in California?

When their synthesized cannabis compounds have healed as many people as the natural cannabis compounds have, I'll start listening to them.

Looks like they have about 8,000 years of human use to go just to catch up to cannabis.

Natural anything is always best.

Peace.

The only thing this drug has going for it is that you have to buy it, you can't make it yourself. Which really is only good for the drug company. Ahh. that was the intent, wasn't it?. Isn't it nice how THEIR drugs work better and better as they get closer to what we make ourselves?

From what I have read, this is not "synthesized cannabis compounds" like Marinol. It is a standardized natural cannabis product with a 1:1 THC:CBD ratio and includes other cannabinoids. This is a big contribution towards more widespread acceptance of cannabis as medicine. As long as folks have access to their preferred method of cannabis ingestion, I can't see any legitimate objection to the marketing of such a product.

You hit upon the very issue. Today there are legitimate objections to Marinol because it does not contain all of the cannabinoids. There is a niche not filled by FDA approved medicines.

Once a pharmaceutical company has devised and patented a formula that removes objections, we all could be informed by our state governments that the medical cannabis programs will be ended. There will be no need for individuals to be growing and selling raw cannabis when the pharmacy sells a safer alternative that is easier for your doctor to dose and control.

Get ready for it....."Why would you need to smoke that stuff? Abusers smoke pot. You can get all of the medical benefits from these pills that are sold by Drugs-R-Us. Raw marijuana will remain a schedule 1 drug."

You need to read between the lines Zach. When they start talking 'proper dosage control', that is a direct threat. They are not looking to exist side by side. They want to rule the market with superior drugs, of course. That's how they roll. They know no other way. They even eat their own that way. Drug companies are very competitive. It's a 'winner take all' situation.

That's why I included the caveat "As long as folks have access to their preferred method of cannabis ingestion".

But I'm not really worried about this long term. The current groundswell of support for legalization will only grow due to demographics. I don't think that big pharma will ever be able to control distribution, although they will still profit from developing cannabis products since reimbursement from insurance companies will likely require purchasing through a pharmacy.

This is wrong. Marinol has absolutely no cannabis in it. It is totally man-made THC, suspended in sesame seed oil, and encapsulated in gelatin.

This is not something covered by insurance, so why not grow and make your own pill?

My insurance covers marinol though I am insulted by my pharmacist at times when I fill the script over the cost which is ridiculous ( I make it last as long as possible ) right or wrong I use it 48 hours before days I drive , it really doesn't work as well and has withdrawls and mental effects that could lead to hospitalization if there were anywhere in the State a patient suffering from medication problems could go and feel safe that their comfort short and long term would be the top priority it should be . If they weren't afraid of being put in withdrawls that could kill the sick and injured in a weakened state who doesn't deserve insults as to why problems occured but need help . I was told drug therapy is utilized in the first place on people already suffering more then they could bear often to extend productivity so they can merely care for themselves rather then die suffering .I always wonder why are we introducing criminality on patients and in our medical system especially when it can't fix everyone and drugs are used as a last ditch effort to maintain order in ones decline from disease and injury . Why won't they back up their products when people have mental and physical pain from them in a reasonable manner with support . I don't understand why they fight medicinal cannabis and none of the cannabis based drugs like Sativex are currently sold and distributed in the United States because of Federal Law . The only choice is marinol or what one can obtain on the program
