Obamacare Upheld By Supreme Court

I just ran my credit report this week, and I owed 6 figures in hospital bills... Nothing on my credit report is negative besides hospital bills, If your poor file for Medicaid/Medcare. (NOTE: You can't file for bankruptcy for medical bills only credit related issues), sucks to not have insurance it has ruined my credit forever, and any chance of getting a home in my name or a loan or anything that involves a credit check. I'm running into this problem right now I can't even find a home to rent due to outstanding Medical bills on my credit report, no way to get them off there unless I pay the outstanding bills. That isn't a option in my future, it would take a lifetime that I don't have to fulfill those debts..

This may not be for everyone but it will help people like myself that have a pre-existing health problem.. NO ONE I mean not one place will insure me due to the cost of the medications to keep me alive unless I pay a extremely high rate or just am simply told NO way.. One shot, just one cost $18,000 bucks, and it only lasts for 8-12 hours If I have to use 3 shots to stop my bleeding in ONE day alone that would equal $54,000 bucks. I have been reading the bill, not to the length I have hoped to yet, So I really can't form a opinion, except on the facts I have heard spoken about pre existing conditions which directly effect myself.

I don't know if this is going to be a good or a bad thing for us, I do think this will vary from person to person depending on their medical needs.. For those that say "I don't even go to the hospital or need insurance", it only takes one trip to the E.R to rack up a $2,000 dollar hospital bill , and that is the price of that tax for everyone they speak about. I don't think Mitt Romney is the choice I want to be running this country, There will be many many many amendments to this bill, same as what they are doing to our medical marijuana act. Things will change in the parts that people feel is not justified, protests, rallies. The voters will have a say in what goes on, but the Government will make the decision for us. This is all just MY OPINION.

15 Reasons Why The Obamacare Decision Is A Mind Blowing Disaster For America

http://endoftheameri...ter-for-america

You can almost always count on the Supreme Court to do the wrong thing. In fact, just about every major decision by the U.S. Supreme Court over the last 40 years has been bad for America. Many were hoping that the Supreme Court would strike down Obamacare, but the truth is that we all should have known better than to expect them to get something right. So now America is headed for a complete and total disaster as Obamacare is fully implemented over the next several years. Obamacare is going to absolutely shred the infrastructure of our medical system, it is going to send health insurance premiums soaring, it is going to dramatically expand the size and the scope of government, it is going to fundamentally alter the relationships between doctors and their patients and it is one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history. Not only that, it is also going to add about a trillion dollars to our national debt over the next decade. So no, the Obamacare decision is not good news. Obamacare was one of the worst pieces of legislation in American history, and now we are stuck with it.

It was a 5-4 decision to uphold Obamacare, and the swing vote was Chief Justice John Roberts who was appointed by George W. Bush.

After the vote today, it is hard to have any faith in the U.S. Supreme Court. Many constitutional conservatives kept voting for Republicans in the hope that the direction of the Supreme Court would change, but it hasn't.

Prior to the Obama administration, Republicans controlled the White House for 20 out of 28 years. If Republicans were going to fundamentally change the nature of the Supreme Court, that was their opportunity.

But it didn't happen.

Instead, what we have is a Supreme Court that is dominated by judges that have very little respect for the U.S. Constitution. When I was in law school I got to study the Supreme Court pretty closely and I quickly realized that most of the time they simply do whatever they want to do and they make up whatever reasons they can to justify their decisions.

That sounds really bad, but that is the truth.

And thanks to the Supreme Court, we are stuck with Obamacare - at least for now.

The following are 15 reasons why the Obamacare decision is a mind blowing disaster for America....

#1 According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal government has the power to force you to buy

private goods and services. Now that this door has been opened, what else will we be forced to buy in the future?

#2 Obamacare is another step

away from individual liberty and another step toward a "nanny state" where the government dominates our lives from the cradle to the grave.

#3 The IRS is now going to be given the task of

hunting down and penalizing millions of Americans that do not have any health insurance. In fact, the Obama administration has given the IRS 500 million extra dollars "outside the normal appropriations process" to help them enforce the provisions of Obamacare that they are in charge of overseeing.

#4 Obamacare imposes more than 20 new taxes on the American people. You can find a comprehensive list of Obamacare taxes

right here. If you love paying higher taxes, then you are going to absolutely love Obamacare once it is fully implemented.

#5 In an attempt to "control costs" and "promote efficiency", Obamacare limits the treatment options that doctors and patients can consider. This is likely to result in a

decrease in life expectancy in the United States.

#6 Obamacare is going to impose

nightmarish paperwork burdens on doctors, hospitals and the rest of the healthcare system. This is going to significantly increase our healthcare costs as a nation.

#7 Obamacare is going to send health insurance premiums

soaring. This is especially true for younger Americans.

#8 Many small businesses are going to be

absolutely crushed by the provisions in Obamacare that require them to provide expensive health insurance coverage for their employees. This is going to make them even less competitive with companies in other countries where businesses are not required to provide healthcare for their workers. This is also going to make it even less attractive for businesses to hire new employees.

#9 Obamacare is going to make the emerging

doctor shortage in America a lot worse. Surveys have found that we could potentially seehundreds of thousands of doctors leave the medical profession because of Obamacare.

#10 Obamacare has already forced the cancellation

of dozens of doctor-owned hospitals.

#11 Obamacare is going to result in a much bigger federal government. In order to fully implement all of the provisions of Obamacare, hordes of new government bureaucrats will be required.

#12 Thanks to Obamacare, you are going to have to wait much longer to see a doctor. Just look at what happened once Romneycare was implemented

in Massachusetts....

In fact, we have already seen the start of this process in Massachusetts, where Mitt Romney’s health care reforms were nearly identical to President Obama’s. Romney’s reforms increased the demand for health care but did nothing to expand the supply of physicians. In fact, by cracking down on insurance premiums, Massachusetts pushed insurers to reduce their payments to providers, making it less worthwhile for doctors to expand their practices. As a result, the average wait to get an appointment with a doctor grew from 33 days to over 55 days.

#13 Obamacare contains all kinds of insidious little provisions that most people don't even know about. The following is one example

from the Alliance Defense Fund....

"Did you know that with ObamaCare you will have to pay for life-saving drugs, but life-ending drugs are free. One hundred percent free. If this plan were really about health care wouldn't it be the other way around?"

#14 As if the U.S. government was not facing enough of a crisis with entitlement spending, it is being projected that Obamacare will add

16 million more Americans to the Medicaid rolls. You and I will be paying for all of this.

#15 The Congressional Budget Office estimates that Obamacare will add more than a trillion dollars to government spending over the next decade. Considering the fact that the U.S. government is already

drowning in debt, how in the world can we afford this?

Supreme Court's Obamacare decision hands federal government unlimited power to force you to spend 100% of your paycheck on things you don't even want

Learn more: http://www.naturalne...l#ixzz1zEK2qVSn

(NaturalNews) Regardless of whether you agree with the fundamentals of Obamacare, the fact that the U.S. Supreme Court has now ruled the federal government has the power to tax Americans into mandatory purchases of private industry products means an end to economic freedom in America. Why? Because it hands the federal government the power to force the American people to buy anything the government wants or face tax penalties for refusing to do so. It is the equivalent of announcing a federal monopoly over all private purchasing decisions.

"The Affordable Care Act's requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax," wrote Chief Justice John Roberts, in his majority opinion. "Because the Constitution permits such a tax, it is not our role to forbid it, or to pass upon its wisdom or fairness."

Thus, the government can force Americans to buy anything it wants by simply characterizing the forced payment as a "tax."

Economic freedom crushed by Supreme Court

This article is not an argument so much about Obamacare itself, by the way; it's a red alert about a fundamental loss of economic freedom -- a shifting of private purchasing decisions to Washington D.C. Now, buoyed by the passage of Obamacare, the U.S. government can (and will) create new mandates that, for example, would force Americans to buy all the following:

• A new car each year from Detroit, in order to "boost the U.S. auto industry."

• War bonds to "support the war effort."

• A year's supply of vaccines.

• Life insurance from the government's "approved" sources.

• Lawn fertilizer (the "lawn health care mandate").

• Intellectual property such as patented human genes already in your body.

There is no limit to the reach of the Supreme Court's wild misinterpretation of the Commerce Clause, it seems. So now, all Americans can expect to get ready for the federal government to start laying out a long list of products and services we will all be taxed into buying from the crony capitalist buddies of those in power.

Government hands economic monopoly to Big Pharma and the vaccine industry

Perhaps the worst side effect is that Obamacare isn't really about health care at all. It's about protecting a Big Pharma monopoly over medicine; forcing consumers to buy into a system that offers zero coverage for alternative medicine, nutritional therapies, natural remedies or the healing arts.

If Obamacare actually offered consumers a free market choice of where to get services, it would be a lot more balanced and effective. Instead, it forces consumers to buy into a system of monopoly medicine of drugs and surgery that would flat-out collapse if not for the monopolistic protections granted to the industry by the government itself.

If given a free choice, most consumers prefer complementary medicine than straight-up "drugs and surgery" medicine, but complementary medicine isn't covered under Obamacare. The law is really just another corrupt, criminal-minded handout to the drug industry. And now, thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court, you can't even opt out!

Abuse of power by the federal government knows no bounds

That's the real kicker in all this: No more opting out of the private purchasing demands of the federal government! Americans are being pick-pocketed at an alarming rate, and it's only going to get worse now that this power has been unwisely handed to the federal government by a short-sighted Supreme Court.

Because long after Obama is gone, other Presidents -- from any political party -- will abuse this precedent to force Americans into buying any number of products, services, or even intellectual property that we don't want. There is now no limit to what the federal government can force you to buy by calling it a "tax."

Note, carefully, there is NO LIMIT to this "taxing" power. If you bring home a monthly paycheck of, for example, $3,000, the U.S. government can now mandate that you spend $2,999 of that on various products and services that it deems you must have "for your own protection." You no longer control your own take-home pay! The government can force you to spend it on things you don't want or even need!

America, it seems, is starting to sound a whole lot like England under King George. Soon, we'll be living under our own modern Stamp Act from 1765, which eventually led to the American Revolution. Learn your history! As Wikipedia explains: (http://en.wikipedia..../Stamp_Act_1765)

The Stamp Act 1765 (short title Duties in American Colonies Act 1765; 5 George III, c. 12) was a direct tax imposed by the British Parliament specifically on the colonies of British America. The act required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp. These printed materials were legal documents, magazines, newspapers and many other types of paper used throughout the colonies. Like previous taxes, the stamp tax had to be paid in valid British currency, not in colonial paper money. The purpose of the tax was to help pay for troops stationed in North America after the British victory in the Seven Years' War. The British government felt that the colonies were the primary beneficiaries of this military presence, and should pay at least a portion of the expense.

The Stamp Act met great resistance in the colonies. The colonies sent no representatives to Parliament, and therefore had no influence over what taxes were raised, how they were levied, or how they would be spent. Many colonists considered it a violation of their rights as Englishmen to be taxed without their consent -- consent that only the colonial legislatures could grant. Colonial assemblies sent petitions and protests. The Stamp Act Congress held in New York City, reflecting the first significant joint colonial response to any British measure, also petitioned Parliament and the King. Local protest groups, led by colonial merchants and landowners, established connections through correspondence that created a loose coalition that extended from New England to Georgia. Protests and demonstrations initiated by the Sons of Liberty often turned violent and destructive as the masses became involved. Very soon all stamp tax distributors were intimidated into resigning their commissions, and the tax was never effectively collected.

Opposition to the Stamp Act was not limited to the colonies. British merchants and manufacturers, whose exports to the colonies were threatened by colonial economic problems exacerbated by the tax, also pressured Parliament. The Act was repealed on March 18, 1766 as a matter of expedience, but Parliament affirmed its power to legislate for the colonies "in all cases whatsoever" by also passing the Declaratory Act. There followed a series of new taxes and regulations, likewise opposed by the colonists.

The episode played a major role in defining the grievances and enabling the organized colonial resistance that led to the American Revolution in 1775.

I am sick of being taxed for wars, military contractors and corporate welfare as well. I shouldn't have to pay for those either. I did not want to "buy" those. :-)

Anyhow, i see alot of nonsense rolling through this topic. Hyperbole at its finest.

If you have insurance, there is no penalty(tax). The penalty is only $95 in 2014. $695 in 2020.

Compensation rate to physicians is currently 85% of the bill from physicians for medicare. We currently pay them 15% less than they ask for. This will likely be lowered to 80%. This is called using a large pool of people to force better pricing. I 100% support it.

The cut to medicare is based upon the "medicare plus" program which is privatized medicare. Private companies cherry pick the healthiest individuals in the medicare program and make huge profits off of the government who pays a full average price to the company. The companies pay less for healthcare for those people because they are healthy. This program is being removed because there is such large cost saving to the government. This is the horrible cut to medicare people are speaking of.

All this law does is tell people to take personal responsibility and supply their own healthcare coverage so the rest of us do not have to pay out of pocket for your healthcare. This is about personal responsibility. A pure republican philosophy.

http://michigancannabispatients.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4104

So much misinformation where can i start?

Knucklehead, your health insurance cannot cost you more than about 9.5% of your income by obamacares law guidelines. If you make 400% or less of federal poverty level, you will recieve discounts on premium and out of pocket expenses.

Captain obvious':

#1 According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal government has the power to force you to buy private goods and services. Now that this door has been opened, what else will we be forced to buy in the future?

Door opened? It was in 1792 with the Militia Act that the government forced people to buy muskets and gun powder. This is similar.

Anyhow, i do not want to pick apart every silly thing, but take the time to actually read up on the ACTUAL law, not just what some partisan hack tells you to think.

This is not a republican or a democratic issue. This is an AMERICAN issue. Do you know what socialism is? Your liberty is under attack!

We are being "forced" to buy Private corporate health insurance. That is not "socialism" by any means,... that is more like fascism.

Heh.

And can you more specifically state how this is attacking my liberties and is unconstitutional?

The Obamacare Precedent: The Second Amendment is Next

  • printer_famfamfam.gif youtube.png podcast.png pptv.png twitter.png facebook.png cart.png

Kurt Nimmo

Infowars.com

June 29, 2012

Now that government employees in black robes have upheld Obamacare and shifted compliance over to thugs at the IRS, we can expect further encroachments on our constitutional rights. The Obamacare precedent has emboldened a tyrannical federal government.

aboutcontrol.pngGun Owners of America notes that the law requires the medical information of all Americans to be entered in a database and argues that this will be used against legal gun owners.

“Centralizing these medical records will allow the FBI to troll a list of Americans for ailments such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to deny them their gun rights, in the same way that the Veterans Administration has already denied more than 150,000 veterans their right to bear arms,” GOA writes.

PTSD is only the beginning. There are any number of medical conditions the government will ultimately cite in order to restrict gun ownership.

Medical care providers now routinely ask patients if there are “guns in the home” and this information is added to medical records.

In Tennessee, legislators were so concerned about this prospect they introduced House Bill 2672 in January. It forbids health care providers from asking if a “patient or the family member owns, possesses or stores a firearm or ammunition unless the practitioner in good faith believes that the inquiry is relevant to the patient’s medical care or safety, or to the safety of others.” Unfortunately, the bill failed to make it out of a judiciary subcommittee in March.

The government continues to concoct excuses to deny gun ownership for medical reasons. In October, for instance, the Justice Department sent letters to federally registered and licensed gun dealers instructing them not to sell guns and ammo to medical marijuana card holders.

“Any person who uses or is addicted to marijuana, regardless of whether or not his or her state has passed legislation authorizing marijuana use for medicinal purposes, is an unlawful user of or is addicted to a controlled substance and is prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms or ammunition,” Arthur Herbert, Assistant Director for Enforcement Programs and Services for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, wrote in the memo.

The medical establishment has pushed an anti-gun agenda for decades. “Over the years, the entrenched medical/public-health establishment, acting as a willing accomplice of the gun-control lobby has conducted politicized, results-oriented gun (control) research based on what can only be characterized as junk science,” writes Miguel A. Faria Jr., a medical doctor.

More than a decade ago, Faria explained how the CDC and the health care establishment attempted to turn gun violence into a medical issue and worked hand-in-hand with government to build the case for not only gun restriction but confiscation.

Now that the medical establishment and the federal government are bound together through the tyrannical tendrils of Obamacare, it seems more than likely the anti-gun agenda will take up the mantle of public safety and health as they work to deny us the fundamental right guaranteed by the Second Amendment.

Obamacare, after all, is about control, not health care.

A control freak federal government is determined to micromanage every aspect of our lives. In order to successfully do this it must disarm the public and ensure that resistance is indeed futile.

This thread should be closed. It seems to me like all I am reading is a lot of insults and name calling - how mature! This is turning into a bull bunny muffin site any more. Nothing here to learn and no one who actually gives a darn about anything other than their bottom line. All you people want to do is fight and argue, how disgusting, I've just about wasted enough of my time here.

Having said that, now here is my take on it. As far as the Affordable Care Act is concerned, SCOTUS has made their ruling, live with it win or loose, that is your choice. And, if you think the GOP (Greedy Old Party) will be able to repeal it, think again, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN.

Just think of it this way, I lived through the SCOTUS awarding the presidency to George Bush in 2004, I lived through the idea that Corporations are people, now it is your turn to swallow a bitter pill - get over it!

Obamacare to unleash crushing new taxes, trillions in debt, huge job losses, and it doesn't even cover natural medicine

Learn more: http://www.naturalne...l#ixzz1zEvgqdDR

(NaturalNews) By now, we all know the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate portion of Obamacare by declaring it a "tax." This is, in essence, a declaration that the federal government now has unlimited power to force consumers to spend some (or even all) of their take-home pay on various products, services or even intellectual property that they have no interest in buying in the first place. It is a concentration of economic power in the hands of the federal government, and it suddenly ends economic liberty in America (http://www.naturalnews.com/036329_Obamacare_Supreme_Court_economic_fr...).

It's also the largest tax increase in the history of the United States. By upholding Obamacare's individual mandate as a "tax," Chief Justice Robert just labeled President Obama the largest tax increase President in the history of the country! (http://decoded.nationaljournal.com/2012/06/roberts-labels-obama-a-tax...)

And yet President Obama himself declared the individual mandate was NOT a tax. Here's the video: http://abcnews.go.co...ideo?id=8620606

And here's the transcript of his interview with George Stephanopoulos:

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2009/09/obama-mandate-is-not-a-t...

But now, of course, Chief Justice Roberts has declared it IS a tax, after all. Thus, Obama's key legislative achievement has become the single greatest legislative deception in the history of America.

How much will this new tax cost you? The Washington Post has published a handy online calculator:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/what-health-bil...

It shows that the new tax begins in 2014, then ramps up to its maximum penalty at 2016, at which point you are taxed year after year until you cave in and buy into the monopoly Big Pharma health insurance scam. This is, for the record, the largest tax increase in history. And it's for a system of medicine which is a Big Pharma monopoly that doesn't even give consumers the freedom to choose natural medicine or alternative therapies!

21 new taxes on Americans

The high court's ruling leaves in place 21 tax increases in the health-care law costing more than $675 billion over the next 10 years, according to the House Ways and Means Committee. Of those, 12 tax hikes would affect families earning less than $250,000 per year, the panel said, including a "Cadillac tax" on high-cost insurance plans, a tax on insurance providers, and an excise tax on medical device manufacturers. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jun/28/republicans-ruling-fo...)

Now that Obamacare's penalty is a "tax," not a "fee," Mr. Obama is breaking a 2008 campaign pledge not to raise taxes on Americans earning less than $250,000. This new "tax" will hit across the economic spectrum, despite his campaign declaration that health care should "never be purchased with tax increase on middle-class families." Now, Mr. Obama and congressional Democrats have enacted the largest tax increase in history.

Federal government can now order you to engage in selected commerce

For the record, under the precedent now set by the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal government can simply order you to engage in whatever commerce the government chooses. All they have to do is create a penalty for refusing to go along with their order, and characterize the penalty as a "tax."

Ron Paul gets it. He understands the simple truth that the government has no power to compel people to engage in commerce. "The insurance mandate clearly exceeds the federal government's powers under the interstate commerce clause found in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution," writes Ron Paul. "This is patently obvious: the power to 'regulate' commerce cannot include the power to compel commerce! Those who claim otherwise simply ignore the plain meaning of the Constitution because they don't want to limit federal power in any way. The commerce clause was intended simply to give Congress the power to regulate foreign trade, and also to prevent states from imposing tariffs on interstate goods. In Federalist Paper No. 22, Alexander Hamilton makes it clear the simple intent behind the clause was to prevent states from placing tolls or tariffs on goods as they passed through each state -- a practice that had proven particularly destructive across the many principalities of the German empire." (http://lewrockwell.c...ul/paul799.html)

Health insurance premiums will soar

Obamacare is going to absolutely shred the infrastructure of our medical system, it is going to send health insurance premiums soaring, it is going to dramatically expand the size and the scope of government, it is going to fundamentally alter the relationships between doctors and their patients and it is one of the largest tax increases in U.S. history. Not only that, it is also going to add about a trillion dollars to our national debt over the next decade. So no, the Obamacare decision is not good news. Obamacare was one of the worst pieces of legislation in American history, and now we are stuck with it.

http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/15-reasons-why-the-obamacar...

Huge political revolt now expected

What are the political ramifications of all this? Obamacare remains widely hated by much of the U.S. population -- at least the portion of the population that actually works for a living -- and this Supreme Court decision will likely ruffle even more feathers of taxpayers who are tired of being pick-pocketed by the federal government at every turn. While most people don't mind paying some reasonable level of tax to the feds, having the government invade your take-home pay and start forcing you to spend it on things you may or may not want is another thing entirely.

Because of the backlash against this law, it seems almost certain that this Supreme Court decision will play right into the hands of Mitt Romney, who will now make repealing Obamacare the centerpiece of his election campaign. He has already stated, in the Weekly Standard, "If We Want to Get Rid of Obamacare, We're Going to Have to Replace President Obama." (http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/romney-if-we-want-get-rid-obamaca...)

But even if Obama is replaced in the White House, the damage has already been done. With its decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has set a precedent of government control over private paychecks, and that precedent has fundamentally crushed economic freedom in America and opened the door to limitless taxes for everything imaginable. King George III couldn't have done it better.

Nevertheless, based on this decision I now predict a sweeping victory for Republicans in the 2012 elections as a backlash against Obamacare. I'm not saying I support Romney or the Republicans, because I think all politicians are crooks for the most part, and I agree with Gov. Jesse Ventura that the two-party system is largely just two criminal gangs jockeying for power on how they can exploit the people they claim to represent. Whether it's DemoCRIPS or ReBLOODlicans in power, they're all political gangstas.

Even if Romney takes office next January, actually repealing Obamacare would be almost impossible to achieve, by the way. Unraveling bad laws is far more difficult than getting them passed in the first place. It would take a true taxpayer revolt to pull it off.

The American revolution just inched one step closer to reality

We may be headed for that sooner than you think, by the way. With this decision to seize control of the money right out of your own paycheck, the moral collapse of the U.S. government is now complete. Once this "tax" starts to come due, many taxpayers will be in a state of near revolt. That, coupled with the economic collapse heading our way from the EU, will bring many Americans to a point of financial desperation.

It is from such conditions that, historically, revolutions emerge. And that's assuming we even make it to 2014 when the Obamacare tax is supposed to be levied on the American people. By some estimates, the U.S. government may suffer a crushing financial collapse between 2012 and 2015. If the government collapses, Obamacare and all the other bad laws go down with it: the Patriot Act, the DMCA, the NDAA, and so on. That's the one interesting thing about human history: Every time governments become too large, too bloated and too deeply invested in crushing liberty, the People eventually rise up against the injustices and take their country back, starting with a clean slate (which eventually becomes corrupt a few years later, of course).

It is the cycle of human civilization... the rise and fall of civilizations. We are living in the time of the fall of the American empire, and it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Hope you're ready to live in "interesting times," because we all have a front row seat to history in the making.
