theNeptune
WASHINGTON -- Legalizing marijuana in even a single state could drive down prices dramatically across the country, encouraging more people to smoke the drug, a panel of experts said at a briefing Tuesday. http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-marijuana-legalization-panel-20120717,0,4151581.story Such a horrible thing drive down prices
+washtenaut
hmmm, drive down prices across the country? .....then the Feds say that this is an interstate commerce issue, not a single state issue because it impacts the drug trade in other states. I bet that they will use this to justify continuing federal attacks within 'legal' states.
Wild Bill
Caulkins said one of the main reasons for outlawing the drug is to make it riskier to produce and sell, driving up prices and curbing use. Clearly a fallacious argument. There is absolutely no evidence that this strategy has curbed use in any way, shape or form either now or at any time in the past. Exactly. 40 years of prohibitionist policy has done nothing but create more problems, and their response to legalization efforts is to do more of the same. Sad...
