I'm actually going to call and see if I can get a new script to see a PT again, since its been a year or so, and things have gotten so much worse in that time..

heh i hear ya. some days im So tightened up (muscles) that when i stretch, i ll end up pinching a nerve.

it is deffinatly something i have to do with moderation, as it all depends on how i slept basically, and how whacked out of shape my back is.

Trix. have you ever noticed any correlations to your pain, and other events? Barametric pressure fuxuations a usual inducer, and beats me up from time to time. But I was wondering if you had noticed changes in your pain levels with other instances, like Earthquake activity ect?

Do you feel much worse this year than you did last?

Even today no sleep, extreme pain.. I pulled it together cause I'm determined to win this fight.. I will do this everyday until I drop or can't physicaly handle it anylonger..

I hate those nights, sometimes I go for days on a couple of hrs of sleep if i am lucky enough to get them.

Bad part is that I have to take someone to work in AA and then come back and do it over a few hrs later.

So medicating is not an option on those days. :( Yeah I am a responsible user.

Hmm Tim, yeah it has gotten alot worse 30% in just over 2 years.. so I'm expecting another 30% decrease in 2-3 then I'll finnaly have a arrow head for a spine base! yay me!

What causes it I dunno my gean pool? lol my entire family is all handicapped.. I have that degeneritive disk diease, and narrowing of my spine.. Honestlty I fight with the Dr's to the point of getting escorted out due to my frustrations of always hearing the same things they never have a answer as to why it has gotten worse, they sure are fast to cut me off when they find out I smoke though.. The RA (Arthritis) in my spine and hands acts up during these cold months.. not sure about a earthquake lol, never been in a real one, just a tremor back when I was a wee lil kid..

When I sleep a good 4hrs (solid night) I feel better than if I somewho acomplish a 6-8 hour sleep time, if that happens its game over I'm shut down for the entire day, if not longer..

And stay away from salt.

yeah I'm not into fried foods, or things that are salty. I really truly have changed my ways 360 degrees, when it comes to how I eat and take care of myself.. When I got my MRI results back and they said 30% less than last test.. It was a wake up call.. But I need pain meds or I'm a horrible person to deal with still.. and that is the most depressing part I HATE OPIATES,but with my blood disorder, that's all my body can allow due to complications with asprins, and NSAIDS..Steriods those things will kill me..

i was referring not so much to being in an EQ< but more to teh timeing of them.

for instance, you notice any significant increase in pain levels over the last 24 hrs?

We all know how the barometric pressure effects our joints and pivot points in our skeletal structure. I am sure many of us understand how the Farmers can tell its gonna rain. Many animals utilize the Magnetic forces of the earth to navigate, so i have no doubt we can be effected to some extent. I am trying to see if i notice any correllations to EQs and spikes in pain or joint binding ect...

heck yeah, as you can see I been in tears all night think I started this like 7-8pm yesterday, Its gonna rain in a few hours.. For the most part though its so hard for me to give you a straight answer cause it allways hurts, yes more on cold rainy days, but it hurts 24/7 ..

how about last week or 2, any other unusual pain increases like this?

yesterday in Columbia was actually a few different registers up to a 7.4. was around 10 am our time by the time you calculate time zone and clock zero differences. but later last night we did start getting hit with a fairly decent glancing blow by a CME that was ejected early sat am i think it was.

GEOFON Colombia Sep 30 16:31 PM 7.2 163.0 MAP I Felt It

there is an overwhelming amount of geological activity this year, as well as Solar Activity. just wondering how/if we are experiencing the shifted magnetic forces ect...and its possible effects.

not to much major activity from the 19th to 23rd, got a little more intense on the 24th and on the 25th was a 6.3 in Baja Cali/Mex border.

a 6.9 on the 26th at the south end of the bearing sea, Alaska.

a 6.0 on the 27th in the Solomon Islands.

mid 5's on the 28/29th up to the 7.4 yesterday.

fairly mild today with 3s/4s mostly and 9 hrs left on the clock for the day (midnight is 5 hrs ahead of our EST zone on the eq site i watch).

That's pretty sweet that your checking into stuff like this Tim.. I would never have in a 1000 years thought to combined the effects of the planetary happennings with how our pain acts up on said days and times, pretty interseting theory..

Well with all the crazyness going on in nature with 10s of thousands of birds flying into the ground or dying off mid flight. Thousands of fish dying, whales and dolphins beaching themselves. the one thing they share in common is they all use the earths magnetic fields to navigate.

add the fact the magnetic field has been moving Huge amounts over the last decade, 40ft a year when it was only 3 cm or inches a yr 100 yrs ago... The earths magnetic field is weakening and collapsing, which is what is considered the contributing factor to the increased rate of pole shift occuring.

If it effects them, its a reasonable leap to consider we too are effected.

Yeah the planet is talking to us huh? We as the inhabitants of this planet need to start lisening to what the enviroment is showing/telling us or who knows where we will be in the future...

On a side note, my pain is going away for the most part still having some spasms, but yeah I'm feeling better..

Went to the gym, I did a light workout..(I used the ball that was referanced earlier in the thread) it was like laying on a big ballon that formed around my back, I will be incorperating that into my daily routine from now on..

my grandmother reports great results from water aerobics.

the water also helps take some weight off.

i wouldnt do weightlifting, but non stressful exercise.

tai chi? i prescribe ... lots of relaxing hot tubs for you sir.

also invest in some kind of massage chair if you can.

theres also the gravity thing where you lay on it, then it tips over so your head is pointed at the ground.

and theres the round back thing, where its basically a giant rigid half ball that you lay against, pushing your spine in unnatural ways.

i'm sure youve tried both of these before.

losing weight also helps back pain so they say.

190 (d'oh , same weight as me) i know i could lose a few love handles and such.

ever sleep on a waterbed? does it help?

i got one and will never look back. less turning/tossing.

good luck

I have used a TENS Unit for years in my teens.. no help They want to place a nerostimulater in place of disks i beileve? they want to do alot of things not many are the same things thus I havent had faith to risk my abilty to walk on a DR. that has no faith or consistency in what their doing.. Yanno I have never used the ball, is that the big giant bouncy ball, lol I bet that would feel good rolling on my back.. should look into that.. work my core that way. thanks

My sister had one of those nerostimulaters implanted years ago and my daughters friend about 1 year ago. I would believe both of them would advise against the procedure. Limited effect (good) and can create additional problems associated with the device itself and the procedure to implant. My sister even had the reciever implanted upside down so that it could not recieve the signal resulting in another operation to correct it. Buh!

About working out with pain/injury. It all depends. There are conditions/injuries that could be made much worse by doing the wrong or even any exercise. Be very careful. I love to work out. Have been involved with competative bodybuilding, power lifting, and olympic style weightlifting. Now after several operations for repairs the fear of making things worse prevents me from doing one of the great loves in my life. I'd love to set a new personal record or two or even just be able to work out consistently for a while but the fear of ending up under the knife again is too much for me. Sometimes the risk of doing additional damage is just to great. Even if it makes you feel good temporarily.

Have you tried Tai Chi? It helps keep you loose but is low stress on your body.

http://nccam.nih.gov...ntroduction.htm

No one around here does tai chi, I have looked into it and have a book someplace on the subject.

Most of the folks around here are blue collar working class folks or retired. Most stay to themselves.
