Thieves Rob Gaylord Business, Tie Up Employees

Northern Michigan's News Leader has learned several masked black males with guns robbed and tied up employees at the Compassionate Caregiver marijuana dispensary on South Otsego Avenue in Gaylord Sunday afternoon.

Police say the employees were eventually able to free themselves and call police.

The suspects were seen leaving the area in a white SUV.

Gaylord police are asking for your help tracking down the thieves.

A pack of black guys in a white SUV (OJ) robbed the dispensary in Gaylord. They wore masks, and tied up the employees, in such a way, that they can get loose on their own. Sounds like it could be an inside job.

I doubt it was an inside job, probably just not the best knot makers. This will feed into those that oppose the dispensaries up here. I remember a woman at a city counsel meeting in vanderbilt (just north of gaylord), she was convinced the cartel would be controlling the streets of vanderbilt if the dispensary remained open. Now she can pretend she was right, telling anyone that will listen.

It would be interesting to know who provided this info. Who saw them? Anyone other than the tied up people? Were there cameras?

You would think that a dispensary would have some camera footage. Any ATMs in the area?

Hi everyone. As many of you already know, we run a medical cannabis testing lab out of Gaylord.

 

We've moved the equipment to a new location in Bay City. We will now be conducting testing in Bay City instead of Gaylord. We will still maintain a field office in the Gaylord area, and we will still be able to collect samples from everyone in this area as usual.

 

I (Dan) am taking a step back to focus on my young family and producing some of the best cannabis extract known to man (ok, that's a bit of an exaggeration-lol) and Scott will be taking over all the day-to-day lab operations.

The armed robbers then ordered all employees to hit the ground, while they took most of the dispensary's product and cash, then went out the back door.

Employees tell us that the suspects were wearing ski masks, black hoodies, and they looked to be all black males. The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a white SUV.

Compassionate Caregivers is located on Old 27 South in Gaylord.

This leads you to think there isn't any camera footage at all. 'Employees tell us', says that.

I don't know the owners, but I am familiar with a former budtender there. I'm pretty sure they have cameras. I'm sure I'll be getting an earful at this week's private meeting.

 

Nowhere near the lab though, that's in Bay City now.

Liberty Clinic in Ann Arbor never had cameras. They wanted to protect the identity of their clients. And then they got robbed. They immediately installed a surveilance system. I'm pretty sure they are no longer in business now. Not because of the robbery though. Mm

Almost anyone can get out of being tied up. The problem is that the person tying almost always starts at the end of the rope with a slip knot. Houdini started out doing a routine where he'd have four members of the audience come up on stage to tie him up and he would get out in less time that it took to tie him up. The only time he almost failed was when a group of sailors tied him up and started at the center of the rope, bringing the ends together to tie them without a slip knot.

From the sound of this, it may be gang related activity. G13 comes to mind, they are known for their violent tendencies.

Not necessarily, to me it is proof that no lists by cities should be made nor should patients & caregivers be prohibited from having firearms.

Clearly the criminals in this case intended to use violence if necessary to carry out their crime. It is ashamed that people that are trying to help others become cannon fodder not only for the criminal element, but also leo. Time to install a card swipe system at the entrance. or maybe a guard shack with electronic gate system.
