peanutbutter
So do you think they should stay open? Edited February 24, 2013 by peanutbutter
mibrains
i would like to add a "if the community in which they exist supports them" button. because i vote yes if they community wants them, or no if they don't.
peanutbutter
I presume that a license, from the community, would show community support.
Highlander
Do you think I should grow 99 plants?
Highlander
Btw I voted yes if the community wants them. But if they do get busted, even if the fed bust them, do I want people in jail. NO There maybe between my poll and PB's poll we can see exactly what people want..

mibrains
if you can prove you need to to ensure your uninterrupted supply. then yes. absolutely. it isn't for me to say you shouldn't.. or judge you if you do.

Highlander
Would you want me in jail if I did. I'll answer first. I would not want you in jail for growing 99 plants. Maybe my position is clear now. I don't like the current dispensary situation. I think they should close. I don't think they should put anyone in jail for marijuana. Highlander
Someone should tell the dispensaries that, PB.
TheHarvester
For their own protection and that of their staff and patients, in light of the recent ruling and from all Legal advice we have heard, it would seem they should close. peanutbutter
Someone should tell the dispensaries that, PB. You think they aren't already aware of that?
CaveatLector
That is the only possible outcome of anti dispensary activity. People going to jail. Yes, we really should organize weekly visitors for McQueen. I'd hate to see him lonely and rotting away in jail.
Highlander
Dunno. Seems not. Someone told me that growing over 72 plants is illegal.. So I don't do that. I'm not sure what advice to give people doing what they know is illegal.
CaveatLector
You think they aren't already aware of that? I think the tongue-in-cheek that I detected was lost on you. Once again, either being obtuse or . . .well, you know.

peanutbutter
I said no, because even with local licensing, they still operate in defiance of federal law (and ignore the Justice Department memos). I do not think a state law can effectively protect dispensaries and commercial grows, and I think trying to do so will draw unwelcome attention to our entire program. Hmm .. by that logic, should the entire MMMA be done away with?
Highlander
No PB. Zap clearly was referring to the fact that dispensaries are no longer in unambiguous compliance with state law and they are commercial. These are the two things the Ogden memo suggested would invite federal prosecution.

Zap clearly was referring to the fact that dispensaries are no longer in unambiguous compliance with state law and they are commercial. These are the two things the Ogden memo suggested would invite federal prosecution. The Ogden memo is no longer applied. I believe it was replaced. In and of itself, saying nothing should be legal under MI law while illegal under federal law, leaves out any medical marijuana at all. peanutbutter
God dam you are an idiot Peanut. You just cannot wrap your mind around reasonable thought. If federal law went away tomorrow, what would you allow under state law? Federal law IS going to change.
