If it is green and stands on it's own, it is a plant. That is the easiest way to look at it. So 12 is the max. If you plant all at once, they all harvest at once and you are over your limits. Most growers plant in waves, 3-4 plants, wait a month, 3-4 more, wait another month.

 

Some of the actual growers in here can help you more, that was just a couple of obvious things.

Ok getting ready to start my grow I am only a patient so it will be just for me but im curious about the 12 plant rule. It states I can have 12 plants now do they count my 12 plants just in flower? Or do they count all the plants in veg as well? and do clones count as part of my 12 as well?

put 3 in veg, and than 3 in budd, and 2 wks before you move the veg into budd cut clones, so reay if you have 9 plants in 3 dif stages you should do real well for your self, and it leaves 3 slots open for a strain you just cant say no to!  once you get everything in check you will have a virual that way and should be able to crop at least one plant a month! ive had 2 ft plants give me 5 oz's, so just chill and the virtual is the best thing going, you will be able to adjust your crop times by when you pull them from veg to budd, as you pull one out of budd you put one from veg in the budd and so on, all should be good unless you have unforseen problems!

 

Best of luck to you, dont give up the first one is usualy the hardest one, it gets easier after that!

I generally keep one plant each of four different strains. There are normally 2 or 3 in flower.

 

The strains I grow have different flowering times so they are not all ready at the same time.

 

When getting ready to put one in flower I take a cutting. Once the cutting roots I put the mother into flower.

 

That way I stay within limits and still have room if I want to try a new strain.
