It is agreed that it be kept in humidor, much like tobacco, to keep it, well, humidified. Ball jars are our option, while fancy boxes and storage rooms are the norm in a cigar shop. A few green leaves, if it becomes too dry, or a piece of citrus peel, stored in the closed container, will help to bring it back.

10% is about right.

 

Freshly chopped plant. The entire wet plant. About 10% of that will become dried bud.

 

If you trim the plant out and weigh a wet bud you can expect about 20%-25%. That's without the stems and stalks.
