On Grow Partnerships ( Without Sex). Called Pwos For Short.

Dutchgrown is a female and won some IC Cup award.  Not that any of those contests mean a darn thing other than who pays off the judges or submits a clone only strain as their seed strain.

I always figured there were fewer female growers because they are more responsible.  Unless you are deluding yourself, you have to admit this game has certain risks that could greatly interfere with raising a child or making a relationship work.  That needed devil may care attitude is much more common in males, young males in particular.  As the medical thing gets more mainstream and fleshed out, more female growers will start popping up.

....and you have proof of that?  I don't have proof for what I said.  It was probably pure BS, I even said so.  I said it to point out that the opinion that I just copied above in this post, has just as much proof behind it.  To me, it's a sexist statement.

No proof, just an observation that since 1974 High Times has not had female editor or publisher (just going on first names, altho Steven cud be a grrl).

Petyr:  Thank you I had not heard Dutchgrown was a female.  And I don't find it persuasive that females stay away from those dangers of growing cause hookers face same.

And finally there is no woman who heads one of the top 200 hydroponic enterprises (again, just going on 1st names).  And there is no comboporn/bud porn for females as there is for males, page thru Rosebud, every come on grow you grow with us ad has a girl and her 'bud'--no guy present--sexist advertising, yes--women are not ignored in growing, far from it, hot ones are displayed in every nute spread.

Today, growing is the most female exploitative, woman unfriendly industry--after our Military, of course.   And I just got 1 1/2 oz on Medibuds side-by-side to Kings Kushes at 3 3/4.

We even have the same rights and opportunities :)

Women have taken advantage of opptys in law (Women in Law groups by the 100's).   But one--not one--group oprganized for Women in Growing, and no women writing or in leadership positions in the industry.  The WA panel on rolling out weed to the masses is all male. So was law in the 70's, it changed due to the women's movement.  Why have women not broken into the growing and the hydro industries?

Northerngal: I note you are the only female posting.

The only way this kind of partnership is legal, from my understanding, is if one is a caregiver and the other is a patient under that caregiver.  It then gives them access to the room which are otherwise off limits to anyone except the caregiver.  So under the law, you cannot ever take a vacation unless you have a patient mind the garden.

There are a few women penetrating (sorry couldn't resist) the male dominated cannabis world.  New World Seeds in Traverse CIty is a woman owned company as is a publication whose name escapes me but she is also a big part of the movement to legalize.  There are also a lot more female caregivers now than ever.  Perhaps that's the difference, now that it's a legal profession more are willing to take the risk.  Are men more risky than women?  I think woman will continue to be a part of this movement so embrace us, we're here to stay :)

Stardreamer: Happy to see you join northernal in posting. I hope to see you contribute often and get to 600 posts. Thanks for the tip there's a female running New World Seeds.

Maybe the pubber at the mag you're thinking of is the quarterly in newspaper format that grow shops dist free? I did hear that a woman owns that.

Greenleaf: Love your avatar, you took the pic yourself?

I'm often toasted so I'm happy to admit I was well-medicated when I wrote this. I keep having to go back and retype. How du yew spel.

No one has shown a major presence of females in the industry. At its most basic; who clerks in grow stores? And no female has chimed in to agree or to disagree with my premise that mj and mmj are sexist and largely offer an unwelcoming stance to women.

Where's this industry's atttitude come from? Where's our military's attitudes spring from? From mistaken beliefs that war is a man's is job. It's too trying for a female. And that it requires testicles to kill. Any females who are, are gonna be playthings.

In mj and mmj? Where's it come from?

polls show women are (more than men) against medical and legalizing marijuana.

less support from women = less women growers,

medical marijuana patients are usually more males than females too.

colorado - "· Sixty-seven percent of approved applicants are male."

arizona - " Approximately 73 percent of the QP cardholders in the
Arizona Medical Marijuana Program were males (n = 25,240)
and approximately 27 percent were females (n = 9,459).
Approximately 80 percent (n = 640) of the CGs were males
and approximately 20 percent (n = 166) were females."

medical growers are a higher percentage male just by the registered patient numbers.

the more you know!

There is sesxism on the women's side as well. at FMs women get on the good side to a seller by calling him 'hun' and flirting. It's employed as a tool to attempt to gain a financial leg up.

So don't be stupid and fall for it.

I used to travel all around the country and sell jewelry that my ex-wife and I made.  I'd always work the women and flirt with them while she did the same to the men.  It goes both ways.

There may have been a female who got a cannabis cup but i don't know, and while I'm sure John Sinclair knows, he's on tour at the moment.  Does anyone have a winner listing that shows gender for the person?  (We know about the plants).

re authors, is High Times likewise sexist?  the editor has always been a man, and every other high post at the magazine, male.

That's becuz females with certifiable grow expertise as well as writing polish are out-matched by males who want to work fo High Times.

Lisa may be the one to break the barrier, if she can survive the loss of her gloss as she ages.

I think your opinion of women growers is such b.s with my 30 yrs or more, I have met and been friended by many women who could out grow and out top shelf the best of men growers, You prob should have just opened up your mouth and put your foot in it instead of writing that!

Peace

Jim

p.s and where you live is alot more mm friendlier than most major city's and all countys, if you live where you say, leo has way more things to do than look for a few peeps growing together! even the trolls come to leo's attn before you!  meaning the trolls that are under the ambassador bridge.

This is the 21st century and the United States of America.  Women get dirty and physical everyday.  (and even clean up afterwards)  We even have the same rights and opportunities that men do, imagine that!

Beyond that, I will leave this thread speak for itself and keep my opinions about it to myself.

I think I get the point -  Don't form partnerships when growing unless sex is involved.....and you will be at quite a disadvantage in that partnership, unless you are a male and gay. (insert sarcasm disclaimer here :) )

I love it!  bahahahahahahaha!

So...all females agree....there is little to no sexism (discrimination) in cannabis cultivation or cannabis equipment mnfr or in cannabis journalism or in auxiliary cannabis affiliateds such as retail.

So i wil caese to point out what does not exist.
